Use the instructions above to start a new thread. You will get more replys from a new thread than this thread which has nothing to do with Lumber Liquidators.

There is the "post Reply" at the end of the last message like you said, and - there is the "Quick Reply" box after the last message! What is the difference?

Tony (or anyone out there) -
There is the "post Reply" at the end of the last message like you said, and - there is the "Quick Reply" box after the last message! What is the difference? You can respond to any posting without quoting by clicking the "pencil & paper" button to the right of the "Quote" button. It will immediately take you to the Quick Post window to enter your post without having to scroll down first. You can later add the quote before posting if you change your mind by clicking a little box in the edit window.

If you're following the proper procedure/steps, it could be that the file size for your photo is too large. If you have no other software to do that, you can always use MS Paint as a means to do it.

When we have visited The Villages and have met people they've handed us their "business" cards and it was a really neat way to keep in touch with them.
Now that we're going to be Villagers where can we get the cards printed so that it has all of your information on it (ie: two addresses, two phone #'s etc.)

Vista Print is the way to go.
It's mind boggling how many designs you have to choose from
and you don't have to follow their written designs on the card either.
You can change the words to anything you want,
change the font, change the size, etc.,
and that also goes for the placement of the words.[/COLOR]

This site is not run by The Villages. This site is owned by private business people. They and the folks they choose moderate and take down posts. But this forum is not an official forum run by the developers of The Villages.

Welcome to TOTV. Most of us aren't computer geeks. We just started off slowly reading New Posts, and eventually got the hang of it.
We are lucky to have this free forum to discuss a lot of interesting things that are happening in The Villages and beyond. I hope you enjoy it.

TOTV members may not always be right but by far they provide some very valuable information to this community. One of the repeated themes here is complaints about complainers which just tickles me because if it were not for those complainers some changes may not have occurred here.
TOTV is privately owned but you have to believe that District, Villages of Lake-Sumter, Inc, businesses, etc are monitoring this site as a sounding board. and if they are not then they should. Some members complain that other members are hiding behind their identities. But consider that because they remain anonymous and free from reprisal they will respond more truthfully akin to an employee completing a survey with the promise of anonymity.
I welcome the criticisms of fellow members about anything, including me and recognize that intelligent people can disagree without being disagreeable

If you go over to classified ads "edit listing" and "post a new add" in the goldish banner that has Talk of the villages on the left side of the banner. You many have to sign in again. At least that's the way it's showing up for me when I go to classified. (I'm using foxfire as my browser-not sure if that would make a difference or not)

dewilson is correct --- if you hit the "edit" button and delete the post, that works.
But strangely, you must substitute three letters or symbols, like /// or *** or aaa.

How can I get a thread I create "stickied"?
You can't. Threads get stickied if the moderators/admin of the forum feel it's something that is important to know indefinitely.
You can subscribe to threads, so you always have quick access to it whenever someone responds in it.
Also whenever someone responds, it automatically jumps up to the top of the "most recently posted" list.
Also, this is a vBulletin forum. There's a hard-coded maximum limit as to how many stickies the moderators are capable of setting in a given category. If I remember right, that max cap can be raised if they pay for add-ons, but at some point there is a max that even add-ons can't exceed.

That post was deleted because it was essentially advertising for a commercial business in which you have an interest. Per site guidelines., Only paid site sponsors can advertise their business. Contact TOTV sales department if you are interested in becoming a sponsor. You should have received a notification message when your thread was deleted. There is/was no issue with the topic itself.

Hi--
I am a very on again/off again snowbird. I'm an 81year old male, in good shape and with a wide variety of interests. I plan to start spending more time here in The Villages, but my wife loves her home up north and is not eager to join me here except for a few months in the spring of the year. Therefore my question: How does a married man with too much time on his hands meet new friends here in The Villages?
I am outgoing and enjoy several clubs here, but it seems harder to meet people here than it was when I worked or when I was in college. I can't very well choose a stranger during a club meeting and ask for a play date.
I am looking at suggestions on meeting new friends here. They can be male or female, but no sexual activity will be expected or welcome.
I am not a "single" so single clubs where people are looking for a "relationship" are out for me.
