I understand that some may say...well, this can't be true - it's reported by Fox News.
But - where else in the Mass Media would something as gut-wrenching as this be published. Seems as if so many cities are INTENTIONALLY creating division and racial strife.

Seattle held 'segregated' training session on 'undoing whiteness,' encouraged staffers to forfeit 'guaranteed physical safety'
The City of Seattle held a racially segregated employee training session aimed at White staffers and instructing them on "undoing your own whiteness" in order to be held accountable by people of color, according to documents obtained by a public records request.
The session took place on June 12, as protesters took part in the so-called "Capitol Hill Organized Protest" in the Capitol Hill district.
Christopher F. Rufo, an editor for City Journal and director of the Discovery Institute’s Center on Wealth and Poverty, said he filed a public records request regarding the training session. On Monday, he published copies of the materials distributed to employees in the session on his Twitter account.
According to his screenshots, the Office of Civil Rights hosted a two-and-a-half-hour “Training on Internalized Racial Superiority for White People.”
In the email invitation to the event, the office asked “city employees who identify as white to join this training to learn, reflect, challenge ourselves, and build skills and relationships that help us show up more fully as allies and accomplices for racial justice.”
“We’ll examine our complicity in the system of white supremacy – how we internalize and reinforce it – and begin to cultivate practices that enable us to interrupt racism in ways to be accountable to Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) folks within our community,” the email invitation said.
The name of the initial sender was redacted. Rufo claimed, “the City of Seattle has refused to provide the names of the diversity trainers, the budget for the program, or the video of the session.”
“I'm going to keep pushing—because this is exactly the kind of thought-policing they want to implement everywhere,” Rufo tweeted. “The new cultural revolution is being fought via corporate HR, city diversity training, and public school curriculums. When you find something like this in your community, expose it, criticize it, mock it, and reject it.”
Those who attended the session were shown handouts, including one that encouraged them to cultivate “networks with other white people who are practicing antiracist accomplicehood so you can talk through your struggles in the work of undoing your own whiteness.”
Diversity trainers instructed White employees in “practicing self-talk that affirms our complicity in racism.”
“Racism is not our fault but we are responsible,” one bullet point declared.
In order to be considered “accomplices,” White employees must give up “comfort,” “guaranteed physical safety,” “expectations or presumptions of emotional safety,” “control over other people and over the land,” and “relationships with some other white people.”
White employees were also urged to give up “niceties from neighbors and colleagues,” “the certainty of your job,” and “accepting jobs and promotions when we are not qualified, including racial equity jobs.”
Employees were presented with a flowchart that demonstrated how “white people keep the system going” by being socialized “to cause harm to POC,” “justify why we are superior and have been wronged by POC,” “use anger, self-righteousness and defensiveness [to] mask fear, shame, or guilt,” “show up small and inauthentic,” and finally are “unable to imagine a way forward that comes from a place of humanity,” thus reinforcing the status quo.
Those who attended the session were also shown a datasheet titled “Assimilation into Whiteness,” which claimed to document how those of Arab, Jewish, Finnish, German, Italian, Armenian or Irish descent still classify as White.
Employees were taught how to “interrupt” their whiteness by being “honest and implicate yourself either in the moment or in past experiences in which you acted or thought similarly.”
“Don’t blame others. Don’t distance. Don’t make yourself seem 'better.' None of us is,” a handout said. “You are also white and what someone else did today you may do tomorrow.”
A two-column chart also listed characteristics that defined “Internalized Racial Oppression.”
“Internalized Racial Superiority,” was defined by perfectionism, individualism, imposition, arrogance, paternalism, silence, intellectualization, control, violence, comfort, appropriation, cognitive dissonance, objectivity and “anti-blackness.”
Meanwhile, “Internalized Racial Inferiority” was defined by colorism, isolation, protectionism, addiction, self-doubt, self-hate, rage, shame, denial, assimilation, ethnocentrisms, distancing, exaggerated visibility, hopelessness, apathy, erasure, invisibility, “anti-blackness.”

My cousins daughter has two masters degrees and another degree for Special Ed. She was told she might have to give up her job so they can give it to a black person. She was also told if she is able to keep her job she will have to write a letter about being white privileged. What ever happened to earning and working for you have in life. Are we all supposed to just give it away, bank accounts, houses, jobs, etc. A crazy world right now for sure.

A new public school requirement in Seattle is a course called “How Mathematics Oppresses Minorities”. So I am not surprised by what you say. Big Tech is complicit with BLM in dehumanizing and denigrating whites so when blacks take their jobs and terrorize them with rioting and destroying their businesses it is not criminal and is justified. The dehumanization of white people by BLM is exactly what Hitler did to the Jews in Germany. And blacks who make anti semitic remarks are given a free pass. Beware!

I’ve heard the rhetoric mentioned in OP’s post before: it was the Communist agenda. It was supposed to bring equality to the “suppressed workers”. It did bring equality, to everyone except Communist party members, everyone lost everything they had, became equally dirt poor and equally oppressed and terrorized.

Seattle does not represent the rest of America!
If the report is true/accurate it has to be illegal on so many levels.
There would also be some fallout from the whites supposedly being trained.
They are not all socialist/radical robots just nodding and going along.
As Paul Harvey would say....and now for the rest of the story......

Since in the world of the 3 races, the white race is by far the minority and getting smaller, I would agree that Mathematics Oppresses the Minorities.
By the way, I’ve heard the rhetoric mentioned in OP’s post before it was the Communist agenda.
OPPRESSION: prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control.
many students in our freshman course in Calculus would agree with that definition, but I enjoyed Calculus. It was sad when after the first semester so many students dropped out

Lol I guess “depresses the minorities” might be the correct term. If I remember my Calculus correctly, I can’t think of any theorem that was cruel or unjust.

So many questions......while Fox plays this up as a star story on their website, I can find it nowhere else.
I would hope, as presented that it is not true.
A few notes.....I noticed it never says how many folks attended on the one single day this was supposed to be offered. Nor does it say exactly who held this one session.
In researching, I did find a story from a year ago referring to a single yoga instructor who offered such a thing and the city reacted very poorly.

That is nothing new at all. But, as a woman, she has special rights under the Federal Affirmative Action law. That law says that women are a "socially and econonically disadvantaged group", along with Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans. These groups have special employment rights above other groups. So, if she feels discriminated against, then she is lucky that she is not a white male. They have no special employment rights under the law.

One of the articles (not Fox) stated: "Christopher F. Rufo, an editor for City Journal and director of the Discovery Institute’s Center on Wealth and Poverty, unearthed the session’s existence after filing a Freedom of Information request last week, which was approved Monday."

First, I have no idea if this is true or not.
What is the story/news?
I worked for a very large corporation all of my career. I attended a number of "training" sessions like this (one many years ago was a training session on women in the workplace - how "the good old boy network" treats women, etc). It had a very similar "purpose" as the training session in Seattle.
In the training sessions I attended, it was a mixture of men, women, black, white, etc. It was a discussion. Women talked about demeaning experiences, etc. It was a learning session for all.
This session was "a segregated training session for white staffers in which they instructed workers on how to ‘undo their whiteness’ and affirm their ‘complicity in racism." One handout reportedly said 'white staffers must give up ‘the land’ and their ‘guaranteed physical safety’ in order to be an ‘accomplice’ for racial justice'.
The email said ‘We’ll examine our complicity in the system of white supremacy – how we internalize and reinforce it – and begin to cultivate practices that enable us to interrupt racism in ways to be accountable to Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) folks within our community.’
Again, I have no idea if this is true. But the wording of this memo seems to assume all those white staffers are racist.
I think there are people who would find "holding training sessions for "white people" to teach them how to undo their whiteness and how they are complicit in white supremacy" news.
I found it interesting. So it's news to me.

From reading so many threads and posts lately, I think "THE STORY" is that there are a lot of white people (I'm white by the way) who are angry, or refuse to admit, this part of the first post.
“city employees who identify as white to join this training to learn, reflect, challenge ourselves, and build skills and relationships that help us show up more fully as allies and accomplices for racial justice.”
“We’ll examine our complicity in the system of white supremacy – how we internalize and reinforce it – and begin to cultivate practices that enable us to interrupt racism in ways to be accountable to Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) folks within our community,”
I was fortunate to have had excellent diversity training, both racial and gender, early in my career and it opened my eyes to a lot of things for the last 40+ years.

This is white liberal self-hatred, mixed with guilt, on steroids, mixed with a strong dosage of Marxism... at some point, there should really be a medical intervention, as well as a forceful response by genuine Americans.

Most of us are descendant from people that desperately wanted to come to America and become Americans. They were discontent in their homeland and many paid a high cost to come here. Does anyone think it is significant that of all immigrants to America, Africans did not want to come here, that they were very content with their culture and social structure. Removed from their home and forced to come here. Is it possible that we don't have a white/black problem but cultural differences. People that come here willingly (then and now) gladly throw themselves into the melting pot and soon conform to being American. We will fail if we think we can force a culture on anyone that does not want it. I hope we don't have to follow the example of Canada and have French and British co-cultures.

I was a probation officer In California for 20 years and resigned 5 years early because of this type of lunacy. Aside from all the usual affirmative action rubbish, the “B” chief had all the juveniles in custody participate in a play that depicted how slaves were sold in the marketplace, with all the adults in the play wearing white face make-up. Then she proudly displayed pictures on the County Website where she received accolades. We were eventually banned from referring to the race of a perpetrator in any Court report If they were “B”. When I left, my resignation letter stated it was because I was tired of defending myself for being caucasian. Now, apparently, we’re headed towards “Only BLM”.

Sounds like a great idea to me. If I am unknowingly discriminating against others I would like to know so those actions, attitudes, etc can be understood and corrected. Information about my possible actions doesn’t hurt anyone. It should happen everywhere for people are open to understanding their actions and their affect on others.

If I’m interpreting this correctly, through my lens, this is probably utilizing role-playing techniques for white to experience the every-day injustices of what it feels like to be black. In doing so we White people can gain some empathy and compassion for what a person of color experiences and, hopefully, will then begin to see others as another human with equal aspirations and goals in life.

Interesting...if someone is so curious about the who/where details, one might think such a person would actually do his/her own research. What am I saying...that's asking too much when it's so much easier to just invoke FOX News.
Here's the original article. It didn't take long to find it: Cult Programming in Seattle | City Journal (https://www.city-journal.org/seattle-interrupting-whiteness-training).
How about the email invitation, itself? Again, not hard to find at all:

Questions about who/how many, etc., could be addressed to the author of the city-journal.org piece, but are those really the salient questions here? One might think that a governmental entity presenting this would be the real issue, but I guess if only a few people responded it's a case of no harm, no foul, right?

The communists have done a great job of indoctrination of teachers which in turn have indoctrinated our youth. The new “norm” is to put one race against the other, hate is all they have and are using it, they are getting away with it in some States. Something for nothing is not in reality, however this is what they want, they are looking to eliminate police, seek “Reparations” in another words some feel that white people owes them, I worked since I was 17 years old, retired at 67 years old, came over legally from Cuba and I am a proud American Citizen, I don’t owe these people NOTHING!. God Bless America, we need it more than EVER

It is not surprising to see it is Seattle. Go to You Tube and type in "SEATTLE IS DYING" and you will find several versions of a documentary done by the local ABC affiliate. Even a year ago, it would have been a good idea to eliminate the city and start over.

Again, not hard to find at all:
https://i.imgur.com/OjAZC36.jpg
Questions about who/how many, etc., could be addressed to the author of the city-journal.org piece, but are those really the salient questions here? One might think that a governmental entity presenting this would be the real issue, but I guess if only a few people responded it's a case of no harm, no foul, right?

Thank you for researching and presenting the actual FACTS of this thread. Interesting reading. Reminds me so much of the training sessions we had to take on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace during the Equal Opportunity movement.
They were mandatory attendance in the company I worked for and they unfortunately led to many crass jokes, but the underlying reason for them was worth while.
I believe they are all in the HR handbooks and have to take place from time to time. It may even be a Government requirement.
I can only assume that a disgruntled employee brought this training session to the attention of Fox who jumped on it for obvious reasons. Pity.

I have a child that lives there and the city is very white with lots of people who feel superior to other races. It is white because it is far north, most jobs are tech and the African Americans are behind(no fault of their own) in this field and there are lots of people from China in the area. The young population is very multicultural but the old people, just like here are very uneducated. I read about the training in a source other than the Faux news media and it seems like a great training. There are lots of people here that could benefit from the training. Unlike the local Seattle news, the crisis of the city is sensationalized outside of the city while the residents with lots of education say to me, what are you talking about. The area was like a love fest and that is now gone. The shootings that took place, take place in any large city and do not usually make the news. Much ado about nothing.

I'm appalled at what's going on in our country...politics aside. There "is" a definite adjenda going on and many people are too blind to recognize it. I have a close family relative who lives in the Twin Cities and attends a "multi-cultural" church---that has been teaching white privilege and how people need to apologize for that. It's NOT just in Seattle or corporate America. Think how quickly in 5 or 6 short months our lives have changed. NOT getting into a debate here---but what were y'all doing last fall compared to now??

I think you're missing the point here. I've had mandatory sexual harassment training in my company, but it's not targeted to just one gender. It's for everyone. Anyone can harass, particularly if they are in a position of power over the victim.
As for the gratuitous comment about FOX, that's your political bubble, apparently. In my view, the "obvious reason" is that this is a ridiculous example of government pushing an agenda, and an agenda that's defining and targeting one specific group. You know...kind of like racism.

The city is "very white" but "lots of people from China" who do not identify as white. The younger population is "multicultural", (again not white), the people here are "uneducated" despite the fact that everyone here was able to plan and prepare to live in this great community?
That is some strange logic but if you believe it, who am I to argue?
"Much ado about nothng" to summarize the much ado about a lot of personal bias?

Are we all supposed to just give it away, bank accounts, houses, jobs, etc. A crazy world right now for sure.

I've been in business for 40 years and we gave jobs to those most qualified no matter what they look like. I've worked in very diverse, highly educated workforces where whites were in the minority in many areas. Ladies and gentleman, this is the result of you not paying attention to your child's education especially in college. History is repeating itself because history was not taught to them.
This is a classic Marxist play. We sit around and discuss race and meanwhile Rome is burning. You remember Rome burning right? You remember what happened to the Germans, the Cubans, the Venezuelans? Or were you busy learning to hate capitalism, this country, and most of Western society? If you talk to a Venezuelan, they will tell you that their statues, including Christopher Columbus came down, that names changed, they "defunded the police" and then their way of voting changed. Please go read what Ilhan Omar is proposing. And others.
They have put Marxists into our government and now a Marxist organization, BLM, is having us trip all over each other on race issues that although exist do not exist to the point that is going on. There is no massive systemic racism going on in 2020 but the young have been "indoctrinated" and are following the plan.
Meanwhile, BLM and Ilhan are talking about a major overhaul of the "system". What do you think that means. BLM is against capitalism as one of their many items that they care about while not really caring about large black issues (and all their money goes to the Democratic party through ActBlue not to black causes). What is anti-Capitalistic? I will let you decide.
Your way of life is about to disappear. To stop it, you must talk to your children about what is going on and about capitalism and its pros and cons. Its pros vastly outweigh its cons. These people aren't talking about Sweden or Denmark policies who have free markets and btw, all their people pay 70% taxes not just the rich. They are talking about Cuban and Venezuelan polices. Wake up. If somehow this doesn't go really south, you need to be paying a LOT of attention to what is happening in the schools. It might shock you to the core. Your kids need to be a lot more involved in what is being taught.

Fear is our enemy people. Most of the comments herein are about fear. What if we just accept that there is a movement right now to make people aware of racism and leave it at that?
It is illegal to fire someone just to make room for a black person. Put the fears to rest.
Then step back and recognize that there is a movement in the country asking each of us to look in the mirror and do the best we can to make the country better.
Let's keep it simple and appreciate that we are seeing people who we may not agree with express themselves.

I do NOT believe Seattle has many white people who feel superior. I have been in business for 40 years and I haven't seen white people feeling superior maybe ever. Especially in tech jobs. The last 10-15 has been all about tolerance and I believe we made even more strides. I just retired and we had blacks, Hispanics, Indians, MIddle Eastern and just about everything and I did not see one person not looking at other people like people. Blacks were at the highest level including the C level. We had a black president for 8 years. How about Oprah, Colin Powell, Condaleeza Rice...need I go on? There is nothing "systemic" going on.
If you think what is going on is a little nuts, it is because it is a little nuts. It's manufactured. Manufactured so that BLM can further an Anti-american, anti-cop agenda. And ....it is working.

Usually, when there is merit in what we do, we want to take credit and be recognized for our efforts - especially in the workplace.
But no one wants to take credit for this training. Why is that? Where are their names? At least the yoga teacher took responsibility for the classes that she organized....

Usually, when there is merit in what we do, we want to take credit and be recognized for our efforts - especially in the workplace.
But no one wants to take credit for this training. Why is that? Where are their names? At least the yoga teacher took responsibility for the classes that she organized....
Gee....what if this never happened ?

Any thinking person watching how the "Progressives" have destroyed the Democratic party and socialist agenda of the current Democratic leaders , gotta say quit voting for Democrats.
We are now seeing the temper tantrums and screams of a dying dinosaur. Thank goodness.
Most of the energy behind their movement were punks who wanted to go wild and get some free stuff. They are now back in their parents' basements smoking pot and getting into the beer fridge.
Thankfully, the vast majority of people in our country just want to work, provide for their families, be good neighbors and live their lives peacefully.

Beware!
Well said!

I understand that some may say...well, this can't be true - it's reported by Fox News.
But - where else in the Mass Media would something as gut-wrenching as this be published. Seems as if so many cities are INTENTIONALLY creating division and racial strife.
SEATTLEPublished 3 hours ago

Much ado about nothing.
.........................
I live in a "city is very white with lots of people who feel superior to other races. There are lots of people here that could benefit from the training."
Yep, The Villages Florida. Gee, too bad the Villages Enrichment Academy is suspended due to Covid. You know, " the old people, just like here are very uneducated." The "White People" surely could utilize a course as the Seattle, to make us all aware of our "Whiteness".
The TV course could have a catchy title to ensure all "Whities" enroll, like-
"Examine our complicity in the system of white supremacy – how we internalize and reinforce it – and begin to cultivate practices that enable us to interrupt racism in ways to be accountable to Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) folks within our community"
...it took me so long to get all these words together for others to comprehend.
You know I'm "very white, old, not multicutural, and uneducated."
Much ado - TALK ABOUT A RACIST posting you made. I'm offended and appalled.

There are several good reasons to oppose this kind of training:
1. There is no such thing as white privilege. White people don't benefit from better educations and more generational wealth, etc.
2. Black people are inferior. Their lower status and wealth is a result of laziness and low intelligence.
3. It is true that Black people as a group suffer from a hundred years of discrimination and oppression by a white majority who begin life with a leg up. But, hey, don't worry about it. In another hundred years it will all go away. Not a problem we need to address now.
I tend to think my America has a problem, and we will not be the great nation we profess to be until we address it. I wish these people who are clearly working to make us a society of equal citizens, the best of luck.

Oh, it was incited for sure. I don't know how well trained you have to be to protest and destroy stuff, though. You just have to be able to organize a mob fast...which they've been doing on social media for some time.
The interesting thing is that not one college campus was targeted by these protesters that I'm aware of.

I think the memo was really drafted by a city of Seattle employee. The question is, who drafted it and who was aware of it. Did the employee who drafted it face any kind of disciplinary measures? Did the higher ups approve this kind of training?
There are a lot of missing details - names and titles for one thing and whether or not this "training" ever took place much less paid for by the city of Seattle.
There is a difference between one nutty employee having nutty ideas and the city of Seattle actually sanctioning and paying for this type of training. We are left with all of these questions marks.
I wish these news stations would get out of the spin business and actually start reporting the complete picture. Context matters.

These crazy "communists" are capable of almost anything. Their behavior is so "off the charts" that many normal people think it is not true, or being grossly exaggerated. The truth is the really are this crazy and anyone who fails to believe it, is contributing to the downfall of our country and our way of life. If the extreme left wins the presidency we will all be going to re-training classes so we can learn how to lower our standard of living so that those less fortunate will not feel so bad.

I agree, with the precept that anyone "forced" to come here against their will should be given special consideration. OK, so give me an example of anyone "alive" in America that has been forced to live here against their will.
Now, regarding the example of how they wish they still lived in one of the countries of Africa that their ancestors originated from, I wonder how these folks (if even alive) would be living. Possibly starving, warring against each other, women raped, etc. because that continent has a lot of problems. Tell me how our current generation of black Americans are not better off than they would be if still living in Africa. BUT, on the other hand, all of the black folks that were born here should take advantage of such a great country as this and assimilate into the AMERICAN culture. Our "culture" is inclusive of ALL. We have a problematic past, but there is no country in the world that has not. And there is no country in the world as great as ours. There is room on both sides of the color spectrum for forgiveness.
As one that was discriminated upon for five years after I applied for a job and had the highest exam results and one of the best resume's, I do not hold a grudge for the flawed thinking in our country regarding present perceived racial slights. One should not be held accountable for their great-grandfather's horse theft. And just because a person is white, that person should not be held responsible for racial slights that happened decades before his family even came to this country.
There is NO "systemic racism" in America. That is simply a political ploy for one political party to gain one-upmanship over the other. Sorry, but singling out a few widely separate incidents where a white takes advantage or harms a minority is not indicative of a racist pandemic.

It appears to me that whenever there is the smallest implication of a slight against a special group, there is a certain faction willing to jump to the conclusion that it is "systemic" problem. If there is a major incident that does not fit the political narrative, then that same political faction is willing to write it off as "being grossly exaggerated."
I agree with you.

Many years ago my husband was a department mgr at corp McDonalds. After many interviews (I won’t mention which dept but it was for a regional position) he was forced by upper management to hire a black man instead of a more qualified white man. They were going for hiring minorities. Several months later he had to fire the black man he had hired for a long list of improprieties, mainly taking a girl friend on business trips. This man was married at that time.

Anybody that believes this bs belongs in a mental institution!
OK, I must be mental. I believe the one sentence in that huge murky laundry list of objectives-"Racism is not our fault, but we are responsible. " That one rings pretty true to me. Historically today's generation did NOT sail the slave boats to America. But TODAY we can NOT PRETEND that it did not happen. It happened-and it is threatening the US social fabric today. That fabric can not be continuously patched like what President L. Johnson did in the 60s. It is time to fix the problem. The CV leaves us at home to think. We have time to know philosophically that RACISM is WRONG. Some people are marching despite the CV. I will not! They are not smart. But they DO have b-lls. They are thinking that "right makes might". Strangely, we are living in a time when "might makes right". There will continue to be some local clashes. Hopefully, like in the 60s, there will emerge a new and long-lasting "love generation". It could happen!

Most of the protesters were not even alive during the civil rights movement. They have grown up, gone to school, worked with and played with a diverse crowd. It is all that they know. The protesters, themselves, are a diverse crowd.
When I hear Jesse Jackson speak, I realize how much things have changed and just how old and stuck in the past that he is. I'm in my my 50's and the world he remembers just does not exist anymore. This group of Marxists is harnessing those old wounds and fears of the past to try and destroy this country. If you "erase" the history of slave owners from the planet then you also "erase" the history of slavery. What better way to reintroduce slavery as a newfangled concept?

This is a copy of an email I just received. I worked at a large corporation in a development position and was told that they had just been informed of a "quota" that must meet so forget it...your promotion is not going to happen.
With all the recent troubles we’re again being invited to an honest and open conversation about race, or said differently, the brow beatings will be resumed. Try this for honest and open: many of us, probably most of us, are tired of your whining, your so-called grievances, your violence and crime, your insults and threats, your witless blather and pornographic demeanor—all of it. You’re not quite 13% of the population yet everything has to be about you, all day, every day. With you, facts aren’t facts, everything’s a kozmik krisis, and abusive confrontations are your go-to.
Here’s the thing: some of us despise you, although fewer than you believe, but most of us plain don’t care about you or your doings. There was a time when we did care, but you betrayed our good will and played us for fools. We laugh about it now, but we actually believed you wanted equal opportunity and mutual respect and to live in harmony—all that stuff. Ain’t it a hoot? Imagine our embarrassment.
We talk among ourselves just like you do. It’s true, we have “frank and open discussions” when you’re not around. Why? Partly because it’s exhausting to tippy-toe around you. Partly because you think it’s your celestial right to tell us what we can say. And partly because you’re alarmingly aggressive or painfully dim-witted by turns. We never know which “you” will pop out of the box, or when. But mainly because you’ve revealed yourself as grasping opportunists without honor or principle. There’s your deal-breaker. There’s more.
During the recent riots you expected us to believe heisting snack food then torching the place was “standing up for justice”. When we didn’t buy it, you told us the looting and arson wasn’t done by the rioters after all, no, all the bad stuff was done by rioters from out of town. Apparently you think it makes a difference to us. And if we don’t fall for that one, you tell us you’re the real victims, you’re the ones “hit hardest” because the neighborhoods you looted and burned are, um, looted and burned.
We’ve never stood in your way but we don’t really care if you have good neighborhoods or not. The evidence says you don’t care either, unless we build and maintain them for you, what your enablers call “investments in urban communities.” They don’t mention the return on our past “investments”. Our former neighborhoods weren’t improved by your arrival. Your contempt for ordinary civility tells us no level of “investment” would make a difference. Listen up. It’s simple. Just like our neighborhoods are our responsibility, so are your neighborhoods your responsibility, not ours. Your clownish leaders will tell you otherwise but they’ve always been your responsibility and they always will be your responsibility. Accept it or don’t, you’re the ones who live in them. There’s more.
Your air conditioned, smart phone equipped, EBT-financed “poverty” doesn’t wash to begin with, yet you’d have us believe poverty causes crime. There’s no payday for assault and rape and random killing. Police say 20% of your criminal violence is related to dope-dealing, okay, business disputes of a sort, but it says the rest of it is largely pro bono. We also notice you have a working knowledge of jury nullification and take pride in not “snitching”, typical gang behavior.
We say “what you think, you do. What you do, you are.” We know what you think—we hear it every waking minute. We know what you do. How could we not know what you are? Just so it gets said, crime causes poverty. It drives away productive people, their businesses and the opportunities you said you wanted. More bad news: you’re free to accuse them of anything you wish but they’re not coming back.
Schools haven’t been educating our kids for a long time. They’re too busy conjuring up new ways to teach yours, in fact, we’re beginning to think yours are the only ones who matter. There’s always some new scheme claiming dazzling success which, in the end, amounts to handing out the answers with the tests, or taking the annoying hard stuff out of the coursework, or entering unearned grades by hand. Whatever they’re doing they’re doing it wrong. Your kids are telling us, in every way they know how, they have neither the interest nor the inclination for academics. Perhaps we should listen. If what they want is “out” it’s worth considering and probably worth encouraging.
You tell us the schools have “failed to meet their needs.” And what are their needs, pray tell? Higher standards and tougher tests? Stricter rules and a dress code? Or some alternate universe where credit is earned for putting teachers in the ER, or for a string of abortions before the tenth grade? If you’d tell us what their needs are we’d at least know what needs we’re failing to meet. Until then we’ll mark it down for what it is, another lame excuse. They’re supposed to be schools, not day care or orphanages or theme parks.
You pester us with the “civil rights movement” of fifty years ago as though it happened last week, with tedious 1960s footage and cloying voice-overs, in an endless loop, like Groundhog Day, decade after decade. It’s understandable, you haven’t met any real resistance since those days. Breaking news: none of it matters any more, it all devolved into just another swindle, an extortion racket, “pay up or we’ll make a stink—and the bad optics are on you”.
Schools now teach something called White Privilege, which claims no overt act is necessary for us to be racist, in fact, absence of such acts is said to be direct evidence. It’s the “original sin” concept in a different wrapper, meaning our putative racism is bone deep and can’t be discharged by good works. Even so, they say we must atone in perpetuity for being white. They suggest we devote our lives in selfless service to you. No. Sorry. Whatever white privilege there may be, it isn’t enough. In fact, being subjected to White Privilege prattle is worth a couple of privileges.
Speaking of privilege, 60% of your college grads—and 20% of all of you—are employed by government. The intent is to create an artificial middle class of course, hence the trivial positions with imaginative titles and weighty salaries. In the lower reaches it’s the quota hires, typically unqualified. It’s a great offer. You pretend you’re doing something useful and we pretend to believe you. The rest of your grads are largely diversity directors, window dressing, teachers of dubious “studies” and improbable “histories”, and similar warehousing schemes for the otherwise unemployable. It’s as good as it’s ever going to get, except for those on the skinny end of the bell curve—for whom we have genuine, i.e., earned respect. You’d be a fool to leave it on the table, for as long as it lasts.
So here’s the deal. If you want to know what we really think of you, the answer is we don’t, unless you’re making yourself unavoidable or we’re cleaning up your latest mess. We can safely rely on you to make astonishingly irresponsible choices and blame us for the consequences. And you’ll demand we make good on them for you. We won’t take a chance on your sincerity ever again. Take it somewhere else, you have no credibility left with us. You’re a net liability, predictable to the point of surety. So we attend to our own lives and our own problems. It’s as it should be. We recommend it. As for you, frankly my dear, we don’t give a damn.

The last sentence sums it all up.

Kudos to you!

Nice forum name. You go!

disgusting and disasterous to say the least; it should not be allowed; BLM is taking it a little too far now and they are going to create a civil war. What do WLM have to protect themselves--you don't see them carrying on like this with all the murders, rapes, etc. by BLM

It's a shame that there's no such thing as a 'facetious' or 'sarcastic' font, because I have a hunch that there are a lot of people who actually believe and agree with your 3 points and are nodding their heads up & down in agreement.

I find nothing offensive about the Seattle training. Biases, particularly racial ones, are prevalent in all of us but not truly acknowledged. In other words, biases are so deeply rooted that we are not aware we have them - hence the need to be trained and made aware. We may not accept all the information provided, but it should start us thinking!

Like it is a new subject not thought about to date. Really!
Why is the focus on blacks only. Are there not bias and prejudices in other groups....white....yellow....brown....et al
For example, being poor and under privilege exists in other skin colors....
And why was there no such black disparity outcry when there was a black president?
Ridiculous!

Blacks and their white supporters need to do the role playing. They are the ones constantly denigrating whites. The vast majority of whites in this country started with nothing. There are many wealthy blacks in entertainment, sports, etc. Immigrants of all colors come to this country and bring themselves up economically on their own. Personal responsibility leads to prosperity not blaming others.

Sometimes I think that we have undereducated the US, esp those liberals.

In statistics that is an N of 1. Without a large number in a study, it is impossible to draw a conclusion. But, that does NOT stop some.

I saw Mr J. Jackson speak in about 1970 and I was not very impressed. Nor was that final conclusion.

I saw Mr J. Jackson speak in about 1970 and I was not very impressed. Nor was that final conclusion.
Back in the 70's it was a different story.
But for JJ to talk to about young people today like they are growing up in a time of segregation, oppression and no opportunities is just not the reality now. But he either can't or won't see it. He's like a broken record. I don't know that he's changed his tune in 50 years.
There is generational poverty in all racial groups. There is also generational wealth in all racial groups.
What the Marxists want to do is redistribute everything so that everyone gets the same thing across the board - just one homogeneous group of meh.

Almost a book? Just a few points to ponder. "20% of "your" criminal violence is related to dope-dealing". It takes 2 to make a deal. The buyers circling US streets in their Cadillacs are RICH, mostly Whites, some Blacks-that BUY it. They provide the magnet for the dope trade. Next : " Schools haven't been educating our kids for a long time". Since last year when we Villagers graduated, I guess? Also, Europe and Canada manage to do education fine-something about near-flat taxes, and property taxes in the US hold our great country back! Next : "Government's intent is to create an artificial middle class." Well, in the last 20 years, there have been unnecessary tax cuts loaded toward the RICH- these cuts have already created a WEAK middle class. Happiness for some IS a weak or no middle class. Note : If you think you ARE middle class you may NOT be. And if you REALLY ARE, you are old- when UNIONS were strong. Also, and this should frighten some, a weak middle class is a fertile ground for something Villagers hate-COMMUNISM. Post script on the post. For a long book, there were very few typos and some strong sentence structure.....Kudos

The City of Seattle held a racially segregated employee training session aimed at White staffers and instructing them on "undoing your own whiteness" in order to be held accountable by people of color, according to documents obtained by a public records request. (ETC, ETC)

This will be an interesting test case to see how much self-abasement and self-hatred guilty white liberals will be willing to take.
I doubt that many Villagers, even if wealthy white liberals, really want their white grandkids growing up hating themselves? Maybe I'm wrong.
It's also humorous to watch some on this board quibble with the sourcing and try to imply it's a fringe story. I wish ...it's a preview of coming attractions as the Marxist revolution continues to gather steam.

Wow, just wow.
The post, in its entirety, belies the sincerity of this sentence.
"There was a time when we did care, but you betrayed our good will and played us for fools."
If that sentence were even close to being true, then we wouldn't be dealing with the same issues in 2020, that existed 50 years ago in 1970. It also perfectly exhibits the definition of "systemic" and "institutional."

It's like a dog chasing it's tail..
The reality is though...in spite of what Jesse Jackson and the individual quoted above might say, the tide has turned. This is not the 70's anymore. That is why the protesters out there are such a diverse group. That is why business owners, doctors, lawyers, CEOs, political representatives are such a diverse group.
Activists seem to be going out of their way to create tensions among people. They are increasingly disdainful of law and order and get in the face of our sworn police officers while they are trying to keep our communities safe. This is not about making things better for people. It's about leveling people. Because that is what Marxism is all about - sameness.

Yes, sameness, with Marxism it is the same wretchedness for everyone, except for the party members. These activists don’t know what they’re playing with. So naive.

I know. All their high and mighty, holier than thou virtue signaling is beyond disgusting.

In other words, overt and obvious reverse racism is just peachy and no issue .... :ohdear:

The people that work in the tech industry are multicultural and probably appreciate the training.

Yes, no doubt they appreciate being told that, because they were born with white skin, they are inherently racist and only various escalating, and often arbitrary, atonements will do. Maybe a few generations of reverse slavery is called for?
By the way, multicultural means all races and cultures are great! -- except for the white European culture that created our civilization and the same one where illegal aliens & third world migrants want to live even if they have to sneak in.
