Taking a cue from the candy bar thread, what's your favorite ice cream? What about it appeals to you? Have your preferences changed over the years or are you loyal to the same flavor? Where do you go in TV when you're in the mood for a cold treat?
I don't drink coffee but love coffee ice cream. Ben and Jerry's Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch is the best, but Baskin Robbins Jamoca Almond Fudge will do in a pinch.
I also look forward to seasonal availability of peppermint candy flavor, usually only available in the Fall holidays months.
I met my future wife in high school when she worked at my local Baskin Robbins and I was in there a lot! :)

Reminds me of the cartoon where a guy is in an ice cream store and the only flavors on the menu are liver, broccoli, and vanilla. And, the guy behind the counter says, "we are out of vanilla".

Haagen-Dazs.....chocolate and vanilla bean mixed together and softened. This brand of ice cream - to me - has the least amount of air whipped into it yielding a creamy fulfilling taste/texture.

If you like coffee flavor, you will love Chick-fil-A's frosty coffee! It is a bit of coffee blended in their ice cream! But the go to place for us when family is here is Ambrosio in Lake Sumter landing, lactose free, made with fruit juices. Pineapple, line, orange and vanilla flavors and you can get a twist. Grandchildren love them! And so do we! (Less expensive too)

My current favorite is mint chocolate chip but having a high A1C I've stayed away from real ice cream and have been buying no sugar added or the keto brands like Halo Top. Or Sugar Free frozen custard.
In tne past other faves were cookies and cream, rocky road and as a kid Friendly's double chocolate.

I always loved mint chip also. I'd have to say today that Kilwins toasted coconut and their mint ice cream is an absolute favorite.

My all time favorite ice cream is Graeter’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk. The ice cream has large, nearly ping pong ball sized, chocolate chunks in the peanut butter ice cream. The recipe has all natural ingredients and is so thick they cannot mix it with a machine. It will burn out the mixer’s motor so it has to be hand mixed. There are other flavors available but the Peanut Butter is the bomb.:boom:

My favorite is Cherry Amaretto, formerly known as Mackinac Island Fudge Cherry Amaretto. There are several small dairies in northern Michigan that make awesome ice cream. This one has pieces of maraschino cherry and large pieces of fudge, in a white or pink amaretto based ice cream. I will miss it this summer, as I'm not going north. Don't have to worry about the calories though.

For awhile would only buy ice cream that was actually 64 ounces but not they have all gone to it.

My favorite flavor used to be be Ben & Jerry's "Totally Nutz" vanilla ice cream as only they could make it with nuts of every kind. I loved the crispy crunchiness with the smooth sweet. But, alas, they stopped making it and it is a graveyard flavor now. Fast forward, tried everything and nothing compared until Blue Bell came out with "Moo-llennium Crunch". It's even better with nuts, chunks of chocolate and caramel in vanilla ice cream. It's soooo good. I try to get it in the pint sized containers so I won't eat so much. The half gallon (yes, a half gallon) is gone in 2 days between the two of us. A good second is Blue Bell "Pecan Pralines and Cream". That one is good because it's too sweet for me to eat much.

Supposedly if the gelato is displayed in stainless steel tubs, it's made on site. If in plastic tubs, it's factory made.
Still doesn't answer the question is it real or not.
Gelato in Italy was too rich for me. Tried it a few times and gave up. I prefer ice cream made without eggs. I believe it's called Philadelphia style.

Butter pecan is our favorite. Per the current pandemic, about 10 years ago we went to LSL and bought ice cream from Baskin Robbins. We saw the clerk was sniffling with a slight cough. Our desire for ice cream overruled our good sense. We caught a bug from that sick clerk and got sick as dogs. Never again.

As far as my husband is concerned, Blue Bell from the little creamery in Brenham, TX is the ONLY ice cream worth eating and Homemade Vanilla is the ONLY flavor. As for me, Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla is No. 1, but I certainly wouldn't turn down a serving of Moolinium Crunch.
I also love Talenti's Sea Salt Caramel.

Since I don’t eat anything with sugar I typically don’t eat ice cream, and it’s about the only sugarless thing I really miss. However, my wife and I found that Kilwins in Spanish Springs serves a sugarless ice cream that is very good. That has now become a frequent destination for us on our bike rides.

Pineapple in ice cream? New one on me.
hands down pineapple gelato is my favorite....first tasted it back in '94 when we were in Italy, been a fan ever since. I've tried making pineapple gelato a few times, I get pretty close to the real thing, but I really need an authentic Italian gelato recipe to duplicate it
(otherwise it's like drinking Guinness over here vs. in Ireland...it's close, but not what they pour in Ireland)
today however, we are going to make some 'lavender ice cream'....nice recipe, the flavor comes from dried lavender flowers ground into dust. We'll freeze what we make while awaiting the Mission figs to show up in the grocery. We bake the figs in honey and port wine and serve them hot over the lavender ice cream. Lot's of great flavors going on in that bowl for sure.
