Where are all the comments about the lack of connectivity?
How I long for the good old days here on TOTV when much that was discussed was how cheated people felt and that they were lied to by their sales agent.
Come on people! Lets have more conversations about that!
Let it begin!

If you're wondering why I started a new thread, I'm very bored waiting at home from the constant flow of contractors in and out on a bathroom redo (all being done under warranty, new home built early 2019)
All day everyday for a full week now. Just the painters then the the trim to be completed, so one of the things that keeps me entertained is this!

Well, probably because we see substantial progress all along the Turnpike now taking place for connectivity and retail shopping. Those things will be much better by the end of the year.

I normally wouldn't do this but if you wanna use the bathroom in our rental just let me know. :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: Holding it for an entire week. New world record. Great thread. :bigbow:

I have a sneaky suspicion you may have a comment or two about the quality of houses being built in TV south of Brownwood.

Bathroom must of been a disaster if its taking everyday for a full week to redo a one year old bathroom Under Warranty..
Or maybe slow workers.... :MOJE_whot:

Curious about what could have gone so wrong in a brand new house. Only thing I can think of is a plumbing problem of epic proportions!!

If you must know!
Tile was completely removed from the walls and floors in 2 bathrooms (shower area only, main floor was fine) and removed from the wall in the bathroom with a tub. Presently the last one is being done right now. The 2 others were done just before Christmas. We had to wait a while since the warranty department was shut down to do this last one.
The reason we had the tile removed everywhere was because a visual defect that we didn't see until using the tub and shower. It was deemed defective by the manufacturer and we chose to have it replaced (under warranty). We were offered $3,000 by the manufacturer for us to just keep it! 3 bathrooms! Maybe in 1955 it would have been something to consider. So, the end is in sight. Maybe usable by Thursday evening.

Most of that is being done over on Nextdoor and FB now. Still entertaining 😊

Ah, what a relief.
I was able to withdraw quite quickly off of next door but rather slowly from facebook. Just one more place online to step away from is TOTV. I do find it very entertaining which is why I'm still here!

Connectivity- yes we're very interested in it and the status of the Magnolia shopping area. Have a house in Monarch Grove. We watch Gold Wingnut's drone videos carefully to see if Magnolia is ever shown. Last we saw a Publix there was slowly under construction, other areas just laid out.

From what we've heard that it should be open by the end of the year.
His videos are awesome!

What happened to your new home that required warranty work?

I'll play along - but I've provided this rant on several threads over the past year. First off, no complaints about the lack of any of the bridges or even the shopping center. We make out just fine without any of it. My concern is only with the lack of transparency with the lack of progress - no acknowledgement that clearly stated due dates were missed and no reasons given as to why. I have a map, still, that clearly shows the Water Lily bridge being open by January of 2020 and Magnolia Plaza being open in the Fall of 2019. Both are being worked on now, but neither are complete. "Stuff" happens, but own up to it. In the latter part of last year, when it was clear the bridge would never be done by January, a VMail was released that mentioned the bridge would probably be April/May, however nothing was mentioned about that being different from the original date. The problem with the lack of transparency is that it fuels the rumor mill, and I've heard some ridiculous rumors as a result - such as the one that was going around that the bridge, which has already been constructed on the side of the turnpike, was not going to be long enough because the turnpike was going to be widened.
All that said, I don't sweat over it or focus on it - I still enjoy every day here. When connectivity happens, I'll be one of the first to take advantage of it. Until then, my vehicles will always take me where I want to go.

Don't think the Developer is trying to deceive or owes us a detailed look into their planning. It is their business. In addition, when the connectivity was originally discussed it was a different world. Based on his plans resources may have been adjusted, since he continues to pay contractors he may have moved dollars, permitting issues local and State....who knows and really, who cares. If being able to drive a golf cart over the turnpike and 44 is what consumes you, get ready, there will be more coming.
