Go to Gainesviile- to the Urology Clinic at UF Health. It’s worth the 1 hour drive. Dr. Thomas Stringer or Dr. Michael Dennis. Both tops in the field!

All of The Villages Health specialists will accept and treat patients with healthcare insurance other than the Medicare Advantage plan required by the Villages Health primary care doctors.

I believe all the VH specialists practice four days a week at the impressive new Brownwood Specialty Care center, and one day at the Specialty Center near the hospital.

Dr. J. Derrick Thompson is an excellent urologist as is his PA-C Roger Madore.

Dr. Taub out of Ocala. According to my sister-in-law who is the head of the recovery room, said he is the best.

I was his patient for about 2 years. Was not happy with mixed up and lost x-rays and my treatment for kidney stone in Ocala. Plus, if you had a 1 PM appointment, it was not unusual to still be waiting to go in at 3 PM or later. When I complained about the long wait times and over filled waiting room, he said "then go somewhere else". So I did! Harvey Taub is not recommended by me.

I had surgery at Mayo clinic in Jacksonville a 18 months ago for an enlarged prostate. He performs a procedure called Holep. He is one of only a few in Florida who performs this. Results have been great. If this is your problem, I recommend you contact him - Dr. Dora.

Research on line and you'll find this procedure is much easier on the patient and has much less side effects.
