Why do many golfers waiting to start their round at De La Vista choose to park their golf carts on the grass near the starter's shack, rather than in one of the 20 empty concreted bays just a short distance down the path (which they had to drive past to get to the grass)?
With all of the rain we have had, that grassy area is looking very sad.

Sloth; laziness; indolence - take your pick

Because they will be needing something to cry about shortly. The condition of the course. Low level of integrity. Self-centered Pinheads. :1rotfl:

So, they drive right up and on the greens. Why would they walk 15 steps to starter shack?

They are the same ones that drive into super soaked wet grass rather than drive thru 2 inches of water on cart path like the sign ask them to do. Never understood the logic behind creating ruts and slinging mud on your cart, I bet they gripe when they see the mud later and have to clean it off.

Pure laziness. It's all about them.

entitled
adjective
feeling that you have the right to do or have what you want without having to work for it or deserve it, just because of who you are:

I wonder what would happen if the folks in the starter's shack told them to please park in the provided spaces then come back so they could be checked in.

The ambassadors at the starting shack tell you where to pull up to and park, so don’t assume it’s the cart owner

Would probably have riots that would rival what happened several weeks ago for St. George, the patron Saint of hood rats.
They would cry they’re being discriminated against because they - are fat, lazy, self centered, think they’re privileged/entitled, don’t care about destroying property, idiots, again fat and lazy, etc., etc., etc.

They park on the grass because they can. Try approaching the offender and nicely asking them to place their cart in the spaces provided. Explain they are destroying the grass and creating an unsightly environment. I have done this and I’m told it’s not my business where they park their carts. Even thought I try and be respectful their attitude burns my butt. Same with shopping carts.. Folks are simply inconsiderate of others. They live in a beautiful
Place but feel no responsibility to keep it nice. The more money spent to repair damages is less money for newer upgrades to our villages.

I occasionally see golf carts parked in the grass short of where the starter shack is, but no golf clubs on the carts. I think these are “walkers“ who don’t want to leave their carts in the parking spots so that other golfers can park there while the walkers are on the golf course.

They do it because they are very inconsiderate.
