Now, if we can just skip Saturday play, I think we'll be ok.
Tough conditions, he may be leading b4 the day is over.

What the heck with Ohio spectators on #7, NO MASKS, I counted 22 at #7 tee.

The object of the game is to watch the ball, they are outside in open air......

Wow did it play tough today. Curious to see how tomorrow goes. It’s only going to be drier.

He had a great 2 years, had $50 million thrown at him and got married. He’s done. Will be around but not an ongoing champion.

It's one round. Things often turn around by round four. There has never been a wire to wire winner at the Memorial.

As far as Jordan Speith goes, he was a great putter. Unfortunately, that was his only real strength. The rest of his game is mediocre. Once his putting went, he became and average player. He's been mounting a bit of a comeback lately and maybe he'll get back in the winner's circle some day, but the past few years he's been a middle of the pack player.

The unfortunate thing for a guy like Speith is that the game has been changing to a power game over the past several years. It seems to have taken a giant leap in that direction over the past few months. Smash and gouge is the way to win on the PGA tour today and that eliminates a lot of players.

Personally, I hate what the game has become. One of my first instructors in golf was a guy named Paul Runyan whose average drive was about 220. Yet, he beat Sam Snead in the finals of the PGA Championship 8 & 6. He told me that on some holes Sam hit is 100 yards past him. Paul was incredibly accurate and one of the greatest putters and chippers that ever lived.

Paul Runyan was also the leading money winner the first time that statistic was kept and was one of the shortest hitters on the tour.

That is not going to happen in today's game. Bryson DeChambeau is the new prototype golfer. Average length hitters are not going to win.

I agree with Jack Nicklaus when he says that it's time for the USGA to stop studying the effect of the golf ball and do something about it.

It’s my understanding he is in the middle of a swing change. This can take a couple of years to perfect. Tiger did it three times. I also think he might want to add about 10 pounds of muscle to get his drives out about 290-300. If he does this he will be fine. He’s still one of the best putters on your.

One does tend to relax a little with 50 million in your pocket. And Jordan just can't afford to do that.

As a Speith fan, I hate to say that I do not believe he has the “it” to compete any longer.
I have said fir the past 2 years, he needs a new swing coach, and a new caddie that has a little psychological guidance in him.

Here in Columbus we were disappointed to learn that spectators were not allowed at this year’s Memorial. Don’t know who you saw on #7, but they were not paying customers.

They were standing behind a fence on #7 tee box, all together without masks, very surprised.

Hole #7 tee box is not far from the clubhouse and on the perimeter of the golf course. Those watching from behind the tee box were most likely Muirfield residents, and they were not on the course as spectators.

Struggling lately? Yes. But...

I'm not sure I'd call a player with 11 PGA Tour victories and three majors a "one hit wonder".

He just don't seam to be the type of player that brings much excitement to the game.
