Looking for safe cab for short ride that's not cart accessible. Do not want to jeopardize neighbors or friends.

IMHO getting into a taxi or Uber driven by someone that you don't know for sure is playing it safe, may or may not be sanitizing the passenger area between rides, that has been picking up anybody willing to pay the fare is far riskier than taking a ride with a neighbor or friend that you should pretty well know is playing it safe or not
Of course if you've tested positive for the virus...then I'd ask you to self quarantine and not 'jeopardize' anyone

Either go with a friend or neighbor you know or be prepared to sanitized the seat you are sitting on

Asking a friend or neighbor during covid is asking too much, just wondering if one taxi is safer than another.
Our car is being serviced and I'm almost tempted to spend day there than coming home and having to get into another taxi. Car is being serviced in oxford which is almost cart accessible but not in our electric cart. Wonder if taxi would come with a side car, lol!

If you're concerned, I'm sure the drivers would be understanding if you took a towel to sit on. Personally, I feel like my clothing is sufficient protection against any (unlikely) contamination of the upholstery. I would insist that the driver wear a face covering and would keep my window partially open. I'd also wear gloves or sanitize my hands after being dropped off.
I totally understand not wanting to trouble your neighbors.

Wear full protection gear; glasses, mask, gloves (I take a couple of pairs and change them) towel to sit on is a great idea, and wipes in a ziplock bag to touch door handle etc, wipe gloves. Don’t encourage talking with driver mention you are very vulnerable when booking so no surprises when he sees you, and when you get home soap and wash everything including yourself. Should be able to take any taxi.

Recent report suggested when riding in a car, put windows down three inches for air circulation as precaution.

I thought the same thing. Better figure out what to do in all situations now. This will be going on for a very long time

So true, I knew someone would give that response when I posted, but hoping that cab driver, who is trying to make a living, would be prepared. Guess this would apply to ALL essential workers, right?

Give Gae-Lynn a text or call, she offers transportation and other services in The Villages. I utilize her services for my 82 y/o mother. We are very pleased with her!

Wear a mask... as everyone should be and you won’t jeopardize anyone’s safety

And wear a mask... also request driver wear one if they are not!
