Yes, I'm in the process now. Have 18 doors plus drawer fronts of hickory wood. Took down and removed all hardware. CleAned with zep degreaser cleaner ,quick rinse and let dry. Next used liquid sandpaper, purchased at HD used per instructions. Sprayed with Kilz primer spray can 2 coats, outside of course. Used about 7 cans. Used 4" roller for primer for cabinet boxes , lightly sand after each coat blow off dust and use tack cloth. Rub your hand over to check for smoothness. Buy a handle made by Rustolium that makes spraying sooo much easier. Used Benjamin Moore Advanced waterborne add Flood Flortrol paint conditioner. Painted cabinet faceframes and back of doors with 4" white foam roller. Used hplv sprayer for front of doors 3 light coats.

I didn't do as many steps as kilmacowen, but certainly priming and sanding are crucial. If you're confident using a paint sprayer, I think it provides a smoother, more even surface on the door fronts.

I'm sure there are hundreds of others, but This Old House (https://www.thisoldhouse.com/kitchens/21097083/how-to-paint-your-kitchen-cabinets) has step-by-step instructions.

Good luck! It's a fun project that rewards care and time.

IMO unless the old finish is pealing waste of time and money. no guarantee it will last if you just want color change.?
