Here’s the latest construction update video and an explanation of the Amenity Fee budgets. The Amenity Fee information is part three of the videos series I started last year with the Maintenance Assessment and Bonds. Links to these other two videos are included in the description of the video and the hot links in the video.

I had to watch it twice. Once for the commentary and once for the subtitles. lol
I guess I could have just paused it but watching it twice was better.. :coolsmiley:

Excellent! I really appreciate your calm, clear explanation of where the money goes. If everyone here listened to that and paid attention, blood pressures would go down and sleep would improve all over The Villages.
People! Stop gossiping and complaining and watch this!
Now I need to watch it again with the sound off so I can revel in the beautiful drone videography. Last time through I was concentrating on the spoken part. Thank you, Don!

As I am a year old resident of a 17 year old home on the north end, Marion county - this was fantastically done. Presented in the way I always welcome: factual, calm, informative. Well done!
Thank you.

Now we know why Katie Belle's went under. Cheapskate Villagers. They should have started charging a cover charge.

I tried to be a little less direct with my presentation of the issue, but you summed it up pretty well.

Did you catch the part where he said the developer of the southern villages makes a profit off the amenity fees?

Did you catch the part where he said the developer of the southern villages makes a profit off the amenity fees?
Did you catch the part where I said it is a part of their business? Did you catch the part where I said they don't make a dime until most of the homes are sold? They're not there yet.
It's a business, and like every other business they have to make money to survive.
Did you work for the government?

Yes, go to it, time well spent. Supplement the information from the RA with what I've put in my 3 videos and you'll be ahead of 90% of everyone else in knowledge.

Thank you for a very well presentation..
Incredible that someone would go to Katie Belle just buy a soft drink and keep a table for 2 hours to watch a show.
Wrong to do that of course but the management should have either implemented a cover charge or minimum food and drink order.

Great job. We should all appreciate the presentation of detailed information about our hometown without the presenter's opinion and agenda that we get forced down our throughts by mass media and network news.
Most residents have little idea how large an operation The Villages Developers have to perform to make it work seamlessly.
Thanks again.

Thanks, actually the developer has little to do with most of the amenities and operations of The Villages. While they are involved south of SR44 because they are the owners of the amenity's property and the contracts, everything else is either owned by CDDs, SLCDD, or VCCDD and managed day-to-day by the public service employees of the District office, none of whom are employed by the developer.
I do have an agenda, please don't mistake that, it is to provide factual information to help my fellow residents know and understand the how's and why's of how this incredible community we all live in works.
And Dilligas, I've never seen you so I can't say yes or no, but it does sound like you do.

Part 2 of this video is quickly taking shape; the audio track is nearly complete, the shot plan is done, now if the weather will cooperate I'll get in the air, it doesn't look promising for today. Wind gusts over 20 MPH are flyable but risky, over 25 MPH it just becomes unsafe.

Interesting app...
It's called UAV Forecast there's an app version that's invaluable for drone flying. It's not 100% right all the time but it's close enough that I never fly without checking it.

Goldwingnut - This is outstanding. I have to watch it again to fully absorb everything.
I have a question - you showed progress on the championship golf courses. I wanted to see progress on the courses so I drove down there. I used the map in The Daily Sun as a guide. I drove down County Road 501 into Monarch Grove. I took Corbin Train until it ends at a field. According to the map, the 2 championship golf courses should be south of Monarch Grove. There was a fence ending Monarch Grove, but I didn't see any construction. All I saw was a big field and overhead irrigation systems. I also drove down 501until I hit CR470. I didn't see anything. Where did I go wrong???

What the newspaper insert showed and you visited was the area areas south of the Turnpike, these areas are still in the planning stages and little visible work has been accomplished. The course under construction is the Southern Oaks course on the north side of the Turnpike just south of Bradford and Hawkins.
I would highly recommend not going into the construction areas as they are highly dangerous. The CAT745 articulated off-road dump trucks working the area haul forty-five tons each and are neither highly maneuverable nor renowned for their quick stopping abilities. A run in with one of these big boys will flatten your entire day.

THank you!! We weren't even close. No... I'm not about to drive around in there... was just curious where the courses were and was wondering if you could see any course layout.

As soon as I start to see the holes being laid out, I'll start showing more details of the course. For now, it just looks like moving dirt.

Did you catch the part where he said the developer of the southern villages makes a profit off the amenity fees?
making a profit off the amenity fee is really double dipping and the outrageous bond being charged is another example of publishing a home price which is really a fiction when you factor in the inflated bond. also the 25 percent tax increase to fund infrastructure for the developer.
