The negatives are pretty much covered in daily communications.
But what about the improvements or the good that has resulted from the pandemic changing how we conduct our lives?
I think the scheduling and routines for doctors appointments has created a more comfortable, less crowded wait rooms and more on time actual appointments.
Having found other than "normal" grocery shopping times when stores are less busy.
We don't really have to go to all the places we used to think we had to go.
What positive have you experienced?

With more time on my hands walking a lot more. Daily goal is average of 15,000 steps and been doing it for past few months.
Great way to control weight allowing me to eat what I would like instead of worrying about my weight.

we now plan our meals for a full week at a time, we make a shopping list and we only go to the grocery store once a week now
we are far more aware of the need to continually gift to charities throughout the year to help those in need

Since we only go out typically for shopping have been doing it twice a week just for something to do.
Very careful in store and always wear a mask.

I forgot to mention one other positive experience...
I never dreamed that I could walk into a bank with a mask on, ask for money and walk out without any issues

I think Social Distancing has been the real bonus from the virus.
Hope it continues well after a cure or vaccine is found!:icon_wink:

I have learned how to really wash my hands properly. I have learned that you never need to go into a grocery store, they will deliver the food. I have learned to play some new games.

Buying groceries on line for last few years, haven’t stepped into a brick and mortar store for the same amount of time.
Still golfing 7 days a week. Always walking about 7 miles a day.
Wore a mask for the better part of 45 years.
Big difference is nobody is paying me to wear it!

My mom has for over the lasT 15 years has always gotten a bad case of bronchitis That last for a month and she really gets weak. This year nothing no sickness, no cough it has been a great year for her.
So we have learn the value of safety during seasonal Cold and flu times and keeping her out of arms way.
She has stated going forward she will 100% practice safety during cold and flu season.

I have taken up the hobby of wooden model ship building. It is time consuming and so I never thought I would have the time. I have plenty of time now and just completed my first model. I would really like to find other ship modelers here in TV if there are any.

I have learned to wave more and verbally say hello more often since our smiles are hidden. I think losing the simple non verbal communication of a smile from those around us is a huge Detriment for each and every one of us and robs society as a whole. It’s even worse that we lose the hugs and handshakes. These non-verbal connections are an important aspect of mental health for everyone. Some need it more than others. I will also still give hugs to friends who need it.

Being a homebody myself, I can finally have my boo stay home and not always want to go out for dinner. I also love social distancing, not fond of fighting other people's diseases. Used to feel self conscious about eating garlic and its after smell but now feel its a positive to keep people away!

I must admit I've learned a few things. One, do not believe everything you hear or read. I heard somewhere that ice cream, cookies and chips helped to fight against the virus. I don't believe that is totally true, nevertheless, I'll still follow that advice just in case. Secondly, you can lower your blood pressure by simply not watching the news. Also, telling your wife not to vacuum while you're watching TV can be more dangerous than the virus. As for the bra thing that was previously mentioned, I'm afraid that if I continue the Ice cream, cookie and chip anti-virus thing I might have to consider ripping off a few bras from my wife. Oops it's almost 10 AM, time form my cookie Rx.

We dug up a new flower bed on the east side of the house and planted a rose garden. Research and care of same keeps me mentally and physically active.

Lower credit card bills, however, I'd rather still be dining out, going to movies, etc. We only do carry-out currently. Another positive, in the southern hemisphere, it is flu season. The same things people do to prevent catching Covid (wearing masks, washing hands, etc.) is also protecting them from the flu. Flu in the southern hemisphere has "practically disappeared."

It is OK to use cash. Just don't touch your face until you have either sanitized or washed your hands. It's OK to touch surfaces when you are out and about. Just don't touch your face until you have either sanitized or washed your hands. It really is a very simple concept and will allow you to live your life and not be fearful of surfaces and things you touch.

I enjoy getting out and about withOUT all the traffic. The stores are less crowded and the wait at a register is short.

Wash regularly but my wife unconsciously will touch things.
We pay our charge card bills monthly so not a problem for us to use it pretty much exclusively and it does reduce a risk factor.

I now have my groceries delivered to my home, upgraded my rental management software to better monitor my properties from home, use Zoom to conduct meetings, bought and use some home gym equipment rather than go to the gym, started cooking from scratch for myself rather than eat out or even get takeaway, stopped flying although I would in a true emergency, reached out to old friends I had not regularly spoken with and some of them have reached out to me.
All that being said I really miss non-social distanced human contact.

I stayed locked down for a long time , but I am venturing out the last 6 weeks to selective restaurants, Bone Fish, Blue Fin Wolfgang Puck and love the fact that dinner reservations are on time although bad for restaurant, I do go to gym also but only 3 days a week the rest I do at home. I do miss going to Starbucks or Dunkin D and the social interaction of the visit . I also miss not being home in Boston in Summer and the fact that I had won a lottery giving me the right to purchase tickets for the King Tut once in a lifetime exhibition.. I am taking some risks because I’m single and need some interaction with people , I wear my mask and wash my hands but at 81the risks against rewards are all I can do

What I have learned is:
that in many ways we are not in this fight against Covid together. Some of us are more vulnerable to getting the disease and suffering its complications. Yet when the vulnerable get sick, we all become more vulnerable. This pandemic shows us that we are all interconnected. How we approach the health and well-being of the vulnerable in our community will have consequences for all of us.
I have learned just how important it is to look out for each other.

Thank you, Velvet, you said that perfectly. I feel the same way.
I am an elder-boomer, which means I have been around to see most of the last half of the 20th Century, and now the first 20 years into the 21st Century, and I have never seen anything like the mess we are in now.
Never have we been more connected (in the raw terms of technology) and yet, we are more disconnected than I ever thought possible.
On another note — I have learned that I miss smiling at others — friends and strangers, too. I can smile under my mask, of course, and I am saving a fortune on Crest White Strips. But, damn, my smile is my best feature. (It used to be my legs — but (sigh) that ship has sailed.)
