If you can get it.................Spectrum is the best.

Even when the neighbor's construction project cuts the line......they put a priority request in and there are out asap.

we've been using comcast for the past 3 years without any issues...

now there may be a better provider, I just haven't had the desire to shop around and compare as of yet

OP, you need to determine WHO is available in the area where you are going to move, not all providers are available in all areas. Since I do not live in that area, I cannot help. It might also be helpful if you provide the exact village, this way you will get specific answers to your questions.
As for Comcast (which I have), they were reasonable (for my issues) until the virus hit, all stores closed and very hard to get an actual person on the line to talk to and answer questions....

I have had both Century Link and Comcast. No real trouble with either one, but prefer wifi with comcast, never goes out. Whereas I had Direct Satellite with Century Link and it went down all the time in bad weather, very annoying.

Since we will also eventually be purchasing a home between 466 and 466A, am very interested to hear everyone's opinion.

Going by one post though, it sounds like there may be only one choice in some areas?

Does anyone know of a map that exists, that shows available providers (by village or geographic area) between 466 and 466A?

We are between 466A and 44 and have Spectrum for the last 5 years, no issues. What is interesting is we have neighbors with Comcast and have had several outages or reduction in speed. No contract with Spectrum and there will be changes when their Comcast contract is up. Spectrum customer service has always been responsive but like Comcast they raise the prices each year then you call and they lower them. Still don't understand that model but seems the way it's done.

We have had xfinity since we moved here in Feb and happy with them for internet, cable and phone service.

Before we moved got the names of the companies who serviced the area and was surprised to find out that each area can have different providers.

I had Xfinity for 1 year. There new account offer was too hard to pass up Normally $50 per month only $20 for the first year.

My issue was their upload speeds were extremely slow. I upload a lot of YouTube videos and it took hours to upload. The speed was only 2Mpbs.

For $50 a month Spectrum offered 100 on the download and 10 on the upload.

I am not aware of any maps showing which service providers service which areas. You can go onto most of the service provider websites, act as though you are setting up service with them by entering your address, and You’ll find out if they service your area and what plans/costs/speeds they offer.

I wish these providers could be made to be consistent with their services across the area. We have Xifinity but their first yr was $40/mo. and then they raised it to $73/mo. It took me months to get in touch with anyone and then I was sold a "Flex voice" option only to find out that I can't get local channels. After more frustrating attempts to get someone in customer service, found out they weren't giving me the $10/mo. credit for auto payments. Got that resolved but not using their flex voice option. Service has been great as far as outage, 100 MBS download but upload never gets above 6 MBS and it takes a long time to upload video or multiple pics. I would still recommend them in spite of the lack of customer service.

Been here 19 years, have had comcast/xfinity for 19 years, no issues or problems. We never lost service during hurricanes when others with different providers in our neighborhood, Glenview did. I call when the rates go up and they drop them back down. I upload movies and never had the slow speeds some have written about. They mail me new equipment everytime it comes out at no fee. I think they're great.

I just changed to Century Link fiber internet service. 960 bps download and 150 bps upload for 65.00 per month with no contract. This is very fast but it is not available in all areas.

None of them are reliable. Internet and basic cable is 130- and install fee 50- spectrum very minutes channels most go to silver brings price to 168- for one TV if they supply router. Will give you kit to do other room connection yourself

I also found Spectrum to be very reliable, and has the best pricing to boot. If you're a new customer with them you can get 100meg for $45 per month, for the first 12 months, and Spectrum does not charge you additional fees or taxes, like the others do.

We have had Comcast for 20 years. Can’t ever remember losing it! Our only complaint was that we had to yearly “ Renegotiate“ our plan/bill in person and that was always worth the effort!

We had Spectrum where we lived before. Since moving to TV, we went with Xfinity. I got tired of the rate increases at Spectrum for the same service year after year. It got to the point that they wouldn't make a rate adjustment no matter what. The thing that really got me was when I called about a mailer I received offering a special rate and was told it was only for new customers, not existing ones. I said "So you give special breaks to new customers but not your loyal ones?" She said "That's right." I then told her I would cancel my service and come back later as a new customer. She said it didn't work that way; I would be considered a "returning customer" and not eligible for any special rates. That did it for me!! We have a 2-year contract with Xfinity but at least my rates won't go up for 2 years. I found them to be a bit cheaper than Spectrum, but the first package we signed up for was misleading. It said 200 channels and internet for $84/month. It only ended up being some of those channels in regular format, then HD format, then foreign language format, so it looked like 200 channels when it wasn't. By the time we straightened that out so we actually got the channels we wanted (no movie or specialty channels), the bill was $125/mo. When we left Spectrum, our bill was $160/mo for similar service. Xfinity so far is okay, spotty WiFi sometimes (we live south of 44) and my husband is always complaining that the internet is slow. We may go back to Spectrum after this contract is up. We'll see what kind of deal they'll give us! It's all just a game.

We live north of 466 near Spanish Springs. WE have had Century Link (DSL) since 2013. It just doesn't cut it if you are streaming TV such as YouTubeTV or the other streaming tv services. We have two smart phones, 4 Echo's, 3 TV's, and a few smart appliances/hvac, etc. Our internet goes down all the time and has even back years ago when we didn't have echo's or smart appliances/devices. Finally we have found the ONLY fiber optic network is Earthlink. We just signed up today. Our service will be 30 mbps on a dedicated fiber optic network so no sharing with neighbors hence the service which fluctuates constantly or crashes. Including their modem it will be $66.90 on a 12 month contract and a 30 day trial so if not satisfied we can get out without a fee. There is a $79.95 professional install fee. We are so tired of the service from Century Link we had to try this. Unfortunately Spectrum fiber optic is not available in our area. Wish us luck!

We live in Ashland, which is just south of 466. We had CenturyLink for internet from 2011 until April of this year. They were extremely reliable. However, we cancelled cable in favor of streaming TV (YouTube TV) and needed more speed. In this area, CL’s top speed is 40 mbps. We switched to Xfinity internet in April 2020 for 200 mbps (4 TVs, 2 computers, 2 cell phones, 2 iPads and 1 doorbell) at $50/mo (plus we rent the modem, so total bill is $64.98/mo). So far, we haven’t had any problems.

Just call the different providers. You need to do that anyway to see what they offer and at what prices. That will tell you. I am below 466a and had spectrum and now have comcast. I have not notice a big difference.

xFinity (Comcast).

But I don’t like any of them. I’ve tried three and Comcast was by far the best.

Live just North of 466A. With Centurylink (80mbps $45, taxes/fee included, no contract) because they don't have a data limit. Comcast will wack you for anything more than 1 TB a month. I know that sounds like a lot of data. Not so when Grandkids arrive. Streaming their little hearts out.

YouTubeTV is good. Price going up in August.

It’s crazy, but each development has certain choices. So you have to ask your realtor here at the villages which internet service you have a choice of. You will only have two choices. I have spectrum and I work from home. No problems at all. Have cable with them too. And if I had a problem I would be honest. I work M-F so I need good internet.

SHORT VERSION:
I have defended Comcast in the past because once a service is set up it works great. However, every time we have had service turned on, our package of channels upgraded, or a feature added (i.e. a sports package) it is a nightmare. If I ever buy another house in TV I will make sure that Spectrum is available so I would not have to deal with Comcast people ever again.

LONG VERSION:
Hubby asked me to order the MLB package a few days ago. Got on the web site and ordered it. I get a message saying there is a problem and I need to call them at the number displayed on the screen. I spend an hour on the phone with the customer service rep who has no idea why the baseball channels won't work. I tell her that we have Tivo devices, not Comcast equipment, and frequently when we add channels we have to call tech support and have them send a signal to the cable cards in the Tivo boxes to get them working. She says she can transfer me to tech support but there is a 30 minute wait. I say I can't do this right now, will call them tomorrow.

The next afternoon I look for the tech support number on their web site. THERE ARE NO PHONE NUMBERS LISTED ANYWHERE ON THEIR SITE. NONE. I had to find a number on a third party site. When I call the robot says I can wait on hold OR they can call me back. In either case, the wait will be 1-1/2 to 3 hours. I don't want them calling me back during dinner so I decide to call back in the evening. When I do the robot says the wait is now 3-1/2 to 5 hours. I decide to try again in the morning.

The next day I spend an hour on the phone talking to two different "technical support" people. Heavy accents, clearly on a VOIP line with that awful hissing in the background. They are reading questions from a script. ("Is the cable box plugged in? Are you sure the tv in on the correct input?" and so on.) I keep telling them I just need someone to zap my cable cards to update my channels. They are very nice but have no idea what I am talking about. Finally, the second guy says he needs to send someone to my house.

I know that it does not take a house call to configure my cable cards to display channels that I have paid for. (The charge has already shown up on my bill, of course!) But I also know (or at least believe/hope) that if they send a technician he will know how to get someone to zap my cards so hubs can watch his Phillies.

The more that people cut the cord and cancel their cable service, the more expensive cable gets for those of us still subscribing AND the worse the service gets. When a company does not offer a phone number anywhere on their web site, that is a huge red flag. You have been warned!

I just bought between 466 and 466a in March. I found that most of the providers were able to service us. We wound up going with DISH, and Hughes net only because they let you suspend your service for up to 6-9 months, total, paying minimal and allowed to turn service on and off. With that being said, we were down in TV just this month and turned on service and let me say, DISH SUCKS! It constantly pauses to stream.
Will be changing that when we become permanent.

I agree, the more cables that are cut the less cable will be a value service. Streaming services prices will rise, all customer service will be by phone or online. While we do some streaming, I can't get what I want without multiple services, times are a changin.

I would seriously consider a streaming service for cable channels (we have Netflix and Amazon Prime in addition to Xfinity) but we love our Tivo boxes. We have used Tivo for about 20 years but they don't work with streaming services.

Comcast technician was supposed to be here between 3 and 5 today, never showed, no phone call or text. Yes, I am annoyed. sigh ...
