Where Are All The Cruise Ships?
While we see the images of parked airliners lined up on taxiways and wing-to-wing at various airports around the world, where are all the cruise ships?

Some are now being sent to the scrap yards. Sovereign and Monarch of the Seas in June. Smaller ships are also headed there. There was a time when they could be sold to smaller cruise lines, now those lines might be out of business soon. The cruise industry will look very different when it returns.

we were to be on a 2-week Royal Carrib Med cruise next month - we cancelled 2 months ago. Full refund of our deposit. Hopefully will go next year. But cruising will be so different-when it gets back. A cruise ship is like a huge Petri dish. No matter what precautions taken, the Virus could still be an issue. One guest brings it aboard, and BAM!!! that ship and cruise is done. Too bad as that industry was a great booming one thru the 2010's... sad. And our flights to Barcelona, never booked thankfully, were another disincentive to go...

We were booked on a trip to Greenland to leave in a couple of days. Sadly not to be as well as another one later this year.
No cruising for us until a vaccine is available and thinking that will not be until sometime next year. Social distancing and cruising not for us.

You can find the location of your favorite ship with MarineTraffic.com.
Most of the service is free and ship locations are provided by AIS receivers on land. When I lived by the ocean I sent reports to the marine traffic website.
