I am wondering what the Humidity thermostat should be on when the house is occupied and air conditioning is on? The house will be vacant for the month of September, so setting air conditioning to 72 (is that a good degree?) and wondering where the Humidistat should be set. Attempted twice to reach out to company but to no avail. Curious how people leave their homes for months at a time as I am stressing out about having no one in the house until I arrive in October. Attached is a photo of thermostats.

Some typical values:

74-78 when home to your comfort

80 or 82 when not occupied.

80/ 82 / 60 is fine . I’ve never had the AC while in house lower then 78 in all the Years I’ve lived in Florida

Your homewatch person should check every couple of weeks to see that the humidity is acceptable, that there is water in all the traps, that the seals in the washer, dishwasher have not dried out, and the fridge is running.

I would set the humidity on 50%. A humidity reading of 60% is borderline high.

During the really hot weather (90* or so) the AC will dehumidify enough (if the temperature thermostat is set low enough) that the humidistat will likely not be needed.

It's when the weather starts to cool off a little with highs in the low 80's and lows in the 60's that the humidity in the house can creep up since the AC is not running very much.

I'd suggest setting the AC on 78* and the humidistat on 50% and that should take care of the house just fine.

I had the same question when I was here, and a little frustrated that I got a wide range of suggestions. But I think now that all the settings suggested work, the result is the same. I have a thermostat with humidity built in, and it has a "Florida" mode that automatically picks 85F / 60% . I felt that was a bit high for temperature, worried a bit about stuff in the house getting too hot. So I manually set it at 80F and 60%. But any temp in the 80 to 85 will save you money on AC and the 60% humidity will prevent any damage.

You want humidity to be 60 or less. I would set for 55.
Temp is not too important as long as the humidity is under control. I would use 80 degrees. You could go up a couple more if you liked.
