I have had the service for several years, love it, love it and then love it some more. I don't know what my data speed it, but never have a problem with it. The customer service is excellent and has a call back system so you do not hang around waiting. Cost for just one phone, me, $23 a month. Cost for international to Europe 4c per minute. Does everything I need.

You could get all your questions answered accurately by calling their Customer Service, they are all in the USA and they all speak ENGLISH, yea.

I have been with CC for 10 years. 4 phones for under $100. We have the unlimited call and text plan with 10 GB data. AARP members get a 5% discount. We have had no dropped calls. and could probably lower our data plan. CC uses AT&T towers and I think T mobil towers. Our SIM card is for the AT&T towers. The only thing I don't like is international that cost extra, but I think most companies charge more. If you have a phone they will send you a free SIM card or you can buy a phone from them or any other seller. They will port your number so you can keep the same number or you can get a new one.

I had my doubts, I switched to xfinity cellular from Verizon they use Verizon Towers, NO CONTRACT. I researched my use with Verizon and found that I was using a maximum of 2 Gigabites of data per month (most months 1 Gig or under) for our 2 lines they charge $12 Per Gigabyte of data, been with them for over 1 year, I went from $90 Per month to an average of $22 per month for 2 lines and I have noticed zero difference in service. I also do have Xfinity for internet and TV which are different, that is real savings the highest bill that I seen was $27.00 for our two cellular lines (We used 2 gigs of data plus taxes etc came to $27) but most months our bill is $14.80

We have Comcast Internet, and because of that, we are able to use Comcast for our cell phones.
We have two lines, unlimited, and it is pay as you need and utilize. We average three hours of phone time for messaging etc.per day and pay for two phones about $34 a month. We were told they use Verizon towers. Never had a dropped call, never had a problem. We switched from Verizon.

I have been a Consumer Cellular customer for 10 years. I pay $68. for three lines, the third line is for my sister. Adding extended family members to your plan is no problem, and they actually welcome it.
You can purchase phones through their plan.
If you are traveling out of the country they will send you a new SIM card for the trip. Customer service will help you convert your phone over and back. They are easy to reach and you are dealing with American representatives.
You can adjust your plan up or down monthly , depending on your planned usage. When I was home based a few months ago I knew I would be using home WIFI for my data, I dialed my phone plan back to 250 mg. I’m out and about more, so I bumped it back up. They will automatically adjust it upwards for you if you are running out of data, never any overcharges. Be sure and go to their website and dial it back down the next month, they will leave it at the higher usage rate until you change it.
You pick your own plan that works best for you. That’s why you see people quoting such different rates. unlimited calls and texts are standard, it’s the data plan that you choose that will add to your basic rate.
If you buy your plan at Target make sure you get the card with ATT towers. I’ve never had a problem anywhere in the nation. (Haven’t tried the dead zone in Fenny Grill������)

We just switched from AT&T to CC. We were paying $108 a month and will now pay $55 a month, unlimited talk, text and 10 GB of data. We got our first month free and their customer service was awesome. Helped us set everything up and notified AT&T to cancel our account. Based on our short time with them, think we made the right move.

I use Tracfone too. $79.99 for a new Samsung Galaxy Orbit phone last December. You get 1500 Min, 1500 Texts and 1.5 GB Data for the year. (Reloading over that is cheap. Unused Time/Texts/Data carryover to next year.) You can get a new phone every year or renew the service for a year. My carrier is Verizon so my coverage is the same as my wife's, who HAS TO HAVE an expensive iPhone, so her Verizon contract is $80/month.
Figure out how much you use: Minutes/month, Texts/month and Data/month. If you are a light to moderate user like me, you'll save a bundle. (Figures out to $6.67/month but you buy the whole year at the start.) No monthly fees. Just buy the biggest memory Samsung Phone + Service Package on HSN or QVC. You can transfer your current phone number if you want. No brainer. Love Tracfone.

We have CC and love it. $52 for 2 phones, unlimited texts, 3 gb data. We live in Monarch Grove and had a bit of trouble getting settled when we moved from Wisconsin with the phones. After going back and forth with CC and new SIM cards, we're finally all set. We're on the T-Mobile tower SIM cards because the AT&T cards didn't work for us. (Just noticed a new cell tower being installed along the turnpike near us). Their customer service is the absolute best. They had to build me a new line just so I could keep my same phone without buying a new one. I was told by CC in Wisconsin that I'd have to buy a new phone to use their service. Yes, there are signal issues in some spots, like mountains. We travel a great deal between Wisconsin and Florida and Florida and NY, so yes, dead spots with no signal in mountainous areas, but otherwise VERY happy with the bill and the service!!!

In this month’s Consumer Reports (September issue) there is an article called “How to Save Up to $1,000 a Year on Your Cell Phone Plan.” I’ve pasted in a paragraph from page 42 (sorry—it got rained on). There is a company called Visible, wholly owned by Verizon, that offers UNLIMITED Data, Text, and Phone for your phone, Prepaid, for $40 a month, including all fees and taxes. If you have four phones on the account, it is only $100 a month total, and they don’t have to be in the same household. The carrier is the Verizon network, so you should have the same coverage as Verizon, which is good. It also includes a Mobile Hotspot on your phone that lets other phones or iPads use your phone system when they are nearby and signed in. So, for example, if I have my phone with me in my car or cart and this thing is on, I can also connect my iPad to it by Bluetooth and get unlimited date for that, as well, so I can use Waze or Google Maps on a much larger screen for no extra charge, or stream Netflix on my iPad in the car.

I signed up yesterday. It was very easy. Visible can do this because they charge your credit card of choice directly on the first of every month, so they don’t have to worry about when or whether you are going to pay. They also don’t maintain thousands of stores in strip malls like Verizon does. You have to sign up online at visible.com. If you sign up, you keep the same phone number unless you want a different one. Visible will send you a little SIM card by FedEx, you put it into your phone and turn it back on, and that’s about it. Visible will then contact your old company and stop the service for that phone As of that moment and transfer the number. You might have an interruption of service for five minutes, but that’s all. Your old company will send you a refund in good time.

This seems to me to be just about the best deal you can get. For the past five years, I’ve been paying Verizon $40 a month plus fees of about $10 for TWO gigabytes of data, compared with unlimited. This is great!

There were four cellular companies, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Sprint was recently acquired by T-Mobile, mainly for frequency spectrum that T-Mobile wanted that Sprint owned. If you are paying for cellular service from another company, you are buying the service from a re-seller, not a cellular service provider. The re-sellers are selling you excess capacity of the real cellular service providers. Since you are buying excess system capacity, your coverage may not be as good, since you may be provided cell sites at a lower priority, than the three cellular company's customers.

We recently switched back to T-Mobile from Verizon. We were paying Verizon over $200 a month for two iPhones and two iWatches. We switched to T-Mobile's Magenta Plus plan. Our two iPhones are $45 each, plus $10 for one of our iWatches. The other iWatch is free. The total cost is $100 a month. There are zero extra fees or taxes.

The effective cost is actually $87 a month, because T-Mobile gives you Netflix service for free. We used to pay $13 a month directly to Netflix. Now, Netflix is included with the T-Mobile Magenta Plus service for free.

The T-Mobile Magenta Plus plan has these features:

T-Mobile also has the lower tier Magenta and Essentials plans that are lower cost, but have less features.

Several years ago, when driving around Florida, we found that the Verizon coverage was better than T-Mobile. We could compare the two service providers coverage with a Verizon work cellphone and our personal T-Mobile cellphones. After that, we switched from T-Mobile to Verizon for a couple years, because we were planning to move to Florida. Previously, we were T-Mobile customers for more than a decade. We switched back to T-Mobile because T-Mobile was half the Verizon cost. After we switched back to T-Mobile, and only after we switched, then Verizon was willing to reduce our Verizon bill a little bit. Verizon could have reduced our cost sooner, but didn't offer to reduce our cost sooner, until we left them. We declined Verizon's late offer to reduce the cost. We're hoping that the T-Mobile coverage in Florida has improved over the past couple years, and is good enough coverage, for about half the cost.

Can't speak for C.C. now but when I was with them until last July I was locked in at $35. a month, unlimited talk, text but only had 2mb of data. The good thing about them was you had NO contract, drop out whenever you wanted & if you thought you were going to run out of data you could get more just for the remainder of that month then go back to your old rate the start of the new month. I never ever got a dropped call anywhere. I only which because who I went to they offered me a Iphone 10 for FREE & unlimited everything for $23. a month. I couldn't refuse that, oh yea, NO contract either! I was with Verison for yrs. & ever time I renewed my phone contract they quoted me a price & the price they gave me they said that was tax & everything. The price they gave me never was right EVER. It was always $38. higher always! Toddao, C.C. you'll love ! If I ever go back to another phone service it'll be C.C. not Verison.

Why don't you check it out before stating that? The data is unlimited - the first 3GB is high speed (5G or 4G) and slower speed after that. But it is unlimited. You can purchase plans with more high speed data if you need. But we use less than 1GB of data per month.

When we started using Cricket about 10 years ago, we got the same responses from people who couldn't believe that anyone legitimate could offer such cheap plans. But Cricket is not so cheap anymore so we switched.

My experience with CC was that they use either T-Mobile or AT&T network. Before I switched to CC I had Verizon and paid $160 per month for two lines. Unlimited everything. I switched to CC because it was cheaper. About $50 a month for two lines. I had nothing but problems after I switched to CC. I tried both T-Mobile and AT&T networks. Most of the time when I went to make a call, I had no service. Most of the time people would try to call me and they would go straight to voice mail. My phone never rang. Lots of time when I was on a call, people couldn't hear me. Sometimes calls would drop. After a year of total frustration, switching SIM cards, networks and even buying a new phone, I went back to Verizon. I got a prepaid card for $35 per month (one line) and haven't had a problem since. I am shocked to read how so many others have had a great experience with CC. Might have to do with where my home is located within the Villages but I definitely am glad to be back with Verizon!

I have had great results. Both me and my wife have iPhone SE's with unlimited calls and text and 3 gig of data a month. We have never exceeded and if you do no overcharge just move you up to next plan and you can go back with no penalties. Great service since they use T-Mobile and ATT towers. My two cents.

I was considering CC and didn't get one negative comment from anyone I talked to personally who used the service, including relatives. However, this may not apply to you, but since I was a Comcast customer, friends convinced me I had nothing to loose by trying their free cell service. Of course it's not actually "free", most tell me I could find a cheaper option as a TV supplier, but, while I don't like the bill, I do like the (relative) dependability Comcast has provided for TV and internet. So, I consider their free cell service a real bargain. The two phones, with unlimited talk & text, and some limits to data which has had no effect on us since the phones do have the advantage of automatically connecting to all Xfinity hot-spots (which are literally everywhere in the USA on every corner), so two phones add at most, $11 a month for both, not each, and many months no charge at all. At one time you had to have an Apple phone, no longer, we have Samsung.

We’ve been using Consumer Cellular over 2 years and have had no problems. Coverage is excellent in all States and pay $51.00 for 2 iPhones. That’s all we’ve ever paid. We highly recommend Consumer Cellular.

After reading all the comments, I'm considering trying CC. I have Boost mobile, though the price is reasonable at $30 per phone per month unlimited, I have grown to hate their customer service. I hardly use my phone for calls. Signal is unreliable, phone never rings goes to voicemail and blocked callers can still leave a voicemail. Had a horrible experience at the Boost store on 441; they sold us the wrong charging cable for spouse's phone after looking at the phone, then refused exchange or return. Terrible business practices, total ripoff. Out $20 but it's the principle of the thing! Stay away from Boost. So frustrating!

Have you checked into Verizon's Senior Plan? I have 2 lines, unlimited talk, unlimited date for $40 per line with all the taxes we pay $89 for 2 lines. Call them (I call the local offices here scattered around The Villages) or go online.

I've had CC since 2004. They have been great. You can choose an AT&T or a T-Mobile SIM. You can even change your mind if you find the signal is weak in your area.
