Sumter Election Impact On Villages building?

I frequently drive through The Villages South of 44 and it seems that much of the common area construction activity has grind to a halt. Particularly just North of the turnpike. They do still seem to be building houses at the same rate.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed the same and if so did the county election had anything to do with it.

I live south of 44 and construction is in high gear. I can hardly get in and out of my home due to construction vehicles.

To be more specific, between Chitty Chatty and CR501 there doesn't seem much going along the roadway. The landscaping is half done and seems on pause and I don't see much going on along Warm Springs Ave compared to before.

I will say that there are still many Dump trucks and contractors entering Chitty Chatty so no doubt that it is still full speed ahead there. If I were to buy a new home that would be the most appealing location for me.

I agree Chitty Chatty would be most attractive area to me as well, if I was just buying in and really took my time to think about it

There are sections down here waiting for the northern end of Meggison road to be completed, the tunnels are already under 468 and it stated in todays paper that the Chitty Chatty bridge will be opened in September. All is well down here, even God only has 2 hands. I don't think the elections will hamper construction and they are not even in office yet.

If you live down here, you would think just the opposite! One day you look and there are just layers of dirt everywhere and the next painted walls are up and sod has been laid at an amazing pace. When you look at the stretch of the area that they are currently developing east of the turnpike, from the start of Meggison Rd at Brownwood down all the way to turnpike rest area and Bexley Bridge, I would say they are going at warp speed.

The only things that may effect construction is repeal of the 25% tax hike that benefits infrastructure and impact fee. This will raise cost of housing construction and raise the BOND FEE. To some it may price families out of purchasing in newer areas.

It will also raise the value of YOUR home, as new home prices will not be artificially low due to the taxpayer funded infrastructure. It will LOWER the cost to live in your home as the taxes will be lower.

I can't see how this is an issue for any property owner in Sumter County or anyone in TV.

Well I hope they will get back to Warm Springs soon and make it two lanes each way. They were almost done.

Last week they had a geyser from a broken water sprinkler head that was gushing for at least two days.

And I am looking forward to the day I can drive to Bushnell in a golf cart :gc:

Will be interested to see how the new commissioners who are not puppets deals with the developer as new areas are constructed
