**********ATTENTION RDOG2 MEMBERS**********

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO ATTEND THE AUGUST 18TH RDOG2 MEETING TO HEAR THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NEW DOG PARK TO BE DEVELOPED FOR YOUR PETS SOUTH OF CR 466!!!!!

We have preliminary approval from The Villages. Final budget and park approval are expected soon with a grand opening planned for November!
Our goal of providing a dog park south of CR466 is nearly complete! Now it is your turn to show your support for YOUR new dog park!
We will be discussing fund raisers for park amenities not included in the preliminary budget.
In addition, our guest speakers for the August meeting are Omar Medina and Jam Shead from Dean's Pest Control, who will discuss the use of, and introduce us to, a termite detection canine. That's right! A dog that detects the presence of termites in our homes. Don't miss this special presentation!

JOIN YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS ON AUGUST 18TH AT 7:00PM AT THE LAKE MIONA RECREATION CENTER!

Congratulations on your work paying off! That's wonderful.

Not yet - That's why they're making the announcement. As for any work that "I've" done....You couldn't be farther from the truth. Have no idea where you got that idea. I haven't attended a meeting in almost a year although I am a member. I think Fumar .... I think

Just glad we're getting 1 south. It's 10.1 miles from my driveway to Mulberry Park and a 35 min ride on the g/cart. Teddy loves the ride but I get sick of others asking me "Hey buddy, whose your date?"

Is Fumar going to be one of the speakers?

Just a observation. Based on the location of the dog park in Springdale, it might be nice to try and have the dog park located closer to automobile parking. It is quite a walk from the car parking to the dog park. By the time the dogs get there there is no reason to stay except for the exercise - if you get my drift.

You might also plan on some shade trees or shade pavilions.

Just my thoughts.

Z,

I agree and hope the whose who in the organization has already taken this into consideration. Hope we find out. They've had to learn from the Mulberry DP. Adding rock around the fountain area for one, sprinklers....

Good thinking, Z. I wish they would add some shade trees at the Springdale park.

Yeah it's gonna stop ALL THE DOG OWNERS. Just like speed limits prevent speeders. Get real. If that's the only thing I have to worry about....This is about a new dog park not postal stations. Stay on the subject. Vent your frustrations to the irresponsible pet owners that DON'T clean up after their pet.

Good response F16. :clap2:

Are there are rumours as to location for the new dog park?

Personally, I suspect Fumar has a dog. I suspect it's either a Great Dane or a Chihuahua.

Of course, I also thought Tony was an English major, so what do I know?

RDOG2 Prez Jeff Emanuel announced tonight the the proposed dog park will be located behind the fire station on Bonita. The location is close to the intersection of Buena Vista and Bonita or the NE corner of BV & Bonita. Emanuel said that funding will most likely be approved Thursday 8/19 with target opening date of sometime in November.

Emanuel and his board deserve full credit for this project. Now, lets get to work.

I read in the DS on page A7 today that the AAC declined a request to spend up to $25,000 to pave the access road to the Mulberry dog park.

It is probably not so long a golf cart though to the Mulberry Dog Park.

Wonder if it will be accessible by car without the long walk you experience up at Mulberry Dog Park unless you go there by golf cart.

Cart & car parking, per Emanuel, will be available. By the looks of the parking lot west of the FD it's already there. Another plus is that there's trees already established that'll provide much needed shade.

Sounds like my dog will have another place to visit in the Villages. :BigApplause:
