So true. I agree. I was just saying he could look him up and his references on TOTV. That's all. My husband had a thriving sole proprietorship tax practice in Seattle. Sold it when we moved here. Retired briefly and started up a practice here. Has many wonderful clients. He has had the gamete of clients and businesses. Sounds like you have too so it's great to know others so when we are at capacity at tax season, we can refer. Nice to meet you.

Plenty of work for all who want it in The Villages....I used to do corporate tax work....that was the worst....the lawyers made all the money defending the positions they told us to take against the IRS.

I will not use him again. Taxes not done till Sept, he did file an extension. He had all tax information to prepare taxes by 3/10. Impossible to reach, always left message. Friends used him also, same problems. Only excuse I remember was it was a busy season.

Sounds like you need a new CPA. Bob Bloom answers the phone or returns the call 7 days a week, the same day, year round. He also will help you immediately with any urgent matter that arises regarding decision making that will impact your taxes. 425 941 5224

We have used Mark Murphy since 2012. Knowledgeable, easy to work with. Our income tax returns are fairly straightforward. Agree with other poster he is hard to get in touch with. During COVID, we offered to mail our tax documents but he said he would come by and pick them up, within the hour, to save us the time and money to Fedex. So we put the documents in an envelope and left them on the front porch. We have Ring doorbell and monitored the front porch and true to his word he picked them up. About a week later we got an email notice our tax return had been accepted and not too long after our bank account showed a deposit by the IRS. Easy, peasy!

I love Mark Murphy. He is competent and easy to work with plus he makes me laugh! Nice sense of humor during tax time. He comes to your home and also drops the taxes off in a timely manner. I needed to leave in mid March this year due to my wanting to go back north because of covid implications in TV (although that never materialized) and he went out of his way to get my taxes done relatively quick. He explains a lot on my taxes and makes suggestions for the coming year. Worth every penny!

Have used Mark since I moved here in 2010 and more than pleased with services. Tax season for any CPA is busy, so I have no problem with filing extensions. Normally meet with Mark 3/4 times a year to look at overall financial picture.

Before you decide to hire CPA to do paper work, be sure to ask about certificate when was the last time took the class and also if they are third party. You want CPA who has completed the class and no more than 4 months old certificate. If third party, mean higher fee charge. Remember CPA is making $ so you want to be firm to make sure you get all tax break. This is serious business. Good Luck!
