When you go, be aware that rush hour traffic getting on and off the island is insanely bad. The roads are not built to handle how many cars come onto the island in the morning or leave in the late afternoon.

Hopefully, they won't have another red tide this year. There were dead fish everywhere there (and a lot of other places on the Gulf coast) a couple years ago. It was very hard on the tourist season.
