My son met his wife playing kickball and proposed to her while she was running around the bases and he was standing at home plate with sign.

Set the whole thing up with the other team.

Since I wasn't familiar with kickball I googled it and loved one of the phrases the girl used to explain the rules: "If you throw the ball at the runner, try not to throw it at their heads, so you don't hurt them too badly." LOL "too badly"!!!

A friendly game of kickball is played the first and third Monday (weather permitting) of each month at the Saddlebrook softball complex. Just show up for a pickup coed match.

Good question. I know they started a kickball group on Mondays...shortly before the shutdown in April. I am interested to see if we can play or get it going. Thanks for the question. I would LOVE to play.

85 to 90 degrees in the afternoon is not the best time for me to be outdoors.

Kickball is being played the first & third Mondays of each month at Saddlebrook at 4pm (weather permitting). Joe Kelly is the leader and can be reached at 352-633-3433 if you have questions. It is listed in the weekly rec news but only the week before it is played; not the off weeks. You can also sign up to get a reminder several days before it is played. The URL is: thevillageskickball.wixsite.com/mysite. You can also unsubscribe if you no longer want emails. I help Joe out and am the one that sends the email reminders out. The current email reminds those that come to:
1) Please bring your Villages ID.
2) Face masks are requested to be worn but not mandatory. Gloves are optional.
3) Bring your own water and hand sanitizer. No water will be available from the Villages.
