For those interested, called the new Mission Barbecue to get information so just passing it on for others who may be wondering about the procedures, etc.

. No drive through service

. Only dining area provided is inside

. They DO have a website with menu and hours, etc. but the website does not allow on line ordering. To order you need to make selections from the menu on line, then call the phone number to give order and CC info.

. You must come into the store to pick up your order, but, they are considering offering curb side pick up system for those who can not or should not go inside. Employee said they hope to be able to begin that kind of service in another week or so. You would call when your arrive and they would bring your order to the car. So be sure to check if they have started a curbside delivery when you call if you do not want to go inside, the employee I talked with said only that it is their intent to begin such a service soon.

. Friends ate there last night in the dining room. Very busy but got order in good time and food was very good.

Went to lunch to the new Mission Barbeque across the parking lot from Miller’s Ale House. A lot like Sonny’s except you go to the counter to order and get your food. Very good. No microwaves or freezers. Food is fresh daily. Has a military/first responder theme with local responder and military photos adorning the walls. Every day at noon all stand for the playing of the national anthem. Check it out at mission-bbq.com

I am so excited to hear Mission BBQ has come to The Villages area! Best BBQ around. We moved from Celebration and when there was a town get-to-gether Mission BBQ was the caterer. When people heard that - they would come if only for the BBQ. We arrive back mid October so that will be one of my first stops.

Just a thought. Don't expect it to be as inexpensive as Oakwood Grill. It's moderately pricey. If you are in the mood for brisket it's worth it.
