One-sided pedestrian bridge path

Havnt been able to learn about reasoning for dedicated pedestrian path leading up to Chitty and Brownwood bridge decks, but not continuing on southern side of bridges. Any thoughts? Can’t be economic because they have invested tons of bucks to build them in the first place.

I've noticed the pedestrian walkway along side the golf cart path on the bridge going over to Sumter Landing from 466 and wondered about that...I'm guessing that the multi use path bridges have a pedestrian walkway for safety purposes

Maybe the side-path is a way for maintenance people to get up to the bridge proper without disrupting traffic.

The best guess I've heard so far it that it's for cyclists to be able to walk their bikes up the steep(ish) ramp as not to impede cart traffic.

Perhaps. The grade is less steep on both southern ramps. Best of what I’ve heard so far

yet there's no real steep incline on the bridge going over to Sumter Landing from 466 like there is on CC bridge...yet that 'sidewalk' is there too

I think the bridges need a pedestrian path because the bridges are much narrower than the standard MMP and there is no way for a pedestrian to step aside to allow carts or bikes to pass.

Since the bridge is a multi model path it will allow bikes however; since the north side of the chitty chatty bridge has such a steep incline, the path is made so people can walk their bikes up. Once on the bridge it’s level and they can remount. There is no such path on the south side because the incline has a much more gentler incline and riders of all capabilities should be ok with riding all the way up.

I believe the plan is to install a very high rope swing at the top of the ramp to allow people to swing across the highway, Tarzan style. It should be fun!

Have any of you ever read the Frank Kafka novel “The Castle,” where a man called to the castle spends years at the inn at the bottom of the mountain awaiting a message telling him to come up the hill or telling him what his job is? It’s frustrating, and sometimes it is life. Some of these questions we have for “the owners” remind me a bit of prayer. We ask God a question, but he doesn’t answer, so eventually we make up our own answers and say God inspired the answers.

So, rope swings!

It would all be so much easier if there was anyone in the castle paying attention and answering simple questions like this.
