Here’s the latest update of construction happenings in the south end of The Villages. The winds and rain lately have made flying challenging, but I was able to use it to my advantage at times. There’s lots of progress being made in the Hawkins and St. Catherine area and I’ve included the mini maps to help figure out where you are. Sorry for all the YouTube advertisements, it’s just how the system works.

Thanks for another great video. If I could make one suggestion, at the beginning of your video, show a map of The Villages as a whole and circle where your video is centered. It would help in the total perspective of what is being shown.

Love these videos. I didn't realize that the Bexley (?) bridge has been there for years.

Thanks, as always..

When are you going to hover over a building site and "This one's for you, Ken"? lol

Love these videos. I didn't realize that the Bexley (?) bridge has been there for years.

Many many years, it was built in 1964 when the turnpike split the Baily farm to give them cattle a way to cross between both sides of the farm.

Looking at the bridge report it will be inadequate for car traffic and since they've stated in the county plans that it will be a 4-lane bridge and it's also been stated that it will be for both cars and golf carts it;s not hard to figure that the old bridge will be removed and new spans will be built. FDOT planning shows significant budget expenditures on this bridge for 2021 and 2022.

Another excellent video Don, especially appreciate how you continue to improve.

Off topic, do you know what lake/river/creek Hogeye drains to?

The best I can tell according to the USGS is it drains back to recharge the Florida Aquafer. I'm an engineer not a geologist so reading the USGS reports takes some time to decipher.

If it’s the Bailey farm, why is it called the Bexley Bridge?

Names change with the importance of the families involved, was the Bailey farm for many years, now Bexley is a key player in the development of The Villages.

What's next? How about the DJI Inspire 2? I guess you could just make the leap straight up to the Freefly Alta 8.. :1rotfl:

An Alta would be great but at that price tag every tree within 500 yards becomes your arch enemy, it's bad enough just crashing one of these that I fly. The two Phantom 4 Pros are my workhorses and what I do all my filming with, the Phantom 4 is just for show as it's the Chinese New Year addition, and the two Mavics are just for fun.
