We are looking for a handy-person who can do easy plumbing, electrical, etc. Also we are needing someone to install attic stairs. As newbies, we need to rely on recommendations because there are some scary folks out there. Thanks!

I highly recommend Alan Byer (352/205-7504). He was an electrical contractor in his former life. He's done some carpentry for a couple of people here and installed some attic stairs for a client. He's also helped me out with a couple of minor plumbing jobs. If he can't do the job, he doesn't hesitate to say he can't rather than trying and mucking things up.

:agree: I just hired Alan to replace a faucet for me and he is a class act. I know I will be calling him in the future when I need things done around my villa.

We used Handiman, a member of TOTV. He does great work at a reasonable price. Our attic stairs were done by Hills Seamless Gutters. When the installed our gutters Mr. Hill explained that they do alot more than gutters. They did a nice job on our stairs at a good price and cleaned up when they were done.
I can recommend both Handi and Hills without reservation.
