With the owners of the Lighthouse Restaurant taking over the Spanish Springs space formerly occupied by Demshars, does that mean they’ll no longer operate the Lighthouse?

The Lighthouse is an extremely successful business. I can't imagine they would close a successful business and take a chance on a venue that has had disappointing results.

I thought the article said their kids were going to manage the new restaurant. Didn’t say anything about closing LH

sounded to me like they were just expanding their business in TV by operating another restaurant

Of course the Lighthouse restaurant is not closing, unless TV are going to build Lake Front Apartments? Gotcha! Ha! Ha!

One post referred to a location with disappointing results - when I first came to TV in 1999 that corner had a micro brewery and a great restaurant ...it was packed every day from noon to close - businesses fold by not providing what TV wants at a price TV wants to pay. Look at the Guy Fierri burger joint in LS ...lasted 5 minutes !!!

No longer a fan of The Lighthouse. Ordered a hamburger with dill pickles on it. It arrived without the pickles. I asked the server to bring me some pickles--which he did. When the bill arrived, it included a 75 cent charge for the pickles. The server said the manager added it. There were seven of us at the table, so the total bill was over $200.00. This 75 cent charge will cost The Lighthouse from now on because when we eat out (with friends), we WON'T be going there. I tell this story whenever The Lighthouse comes up. This is their price for their greed. What a shame!

If you enjoy the restaurant in the past and this time also, a chat with the manager would I’m sure have solved the issue . Might depend on what pickles were desired, slices or cold pack .

If the menu said the burger included pickles, then the manager was wrong to charge extra for them. I would have definitely brought that up to the manager. They don’t want to lose any patrons over something so trivial!

My husband and I love the Lighthouse! Love their patriotism and their hospitality! I would love to hear their side of this story. Forgive and forget works wonders. Blessings😊

No, they are not closing The Lighthouse. They are just opening up a new venue. As far as the pickle charge goes, if it wasn't included, the server should have rightfully mentioned that there would be an upcharge and I would have asked my server upon presentation of the bill. For me personally, I love the atmosphere and water view there, and that minor issue would never keep me away.

Have eaten at the Lighthouse. Does not look good for the new restaurant if I have to go by that experience. Why can’t they open a GOOD restaurant?

The NEW women bartenders at The Lighthouse make the martini's short as opposed to the older guys that were there. I DO NOT want to start an issue about men versus women here, just to say when you make a martini that is 1"" short from the top of the martini glass and charge top prices it shows UP very quickly when they are brought to the table. It is these small items that irks people, like the pickles charge, etc. Managers think they will save more money with charging for small items and shorting the drinks, but It BACKFIRES with seniors who may have short memories on a lot of things, except with drinks and food! Give a little get a LOT!

Exactly!!! Those who do not think it can be harmful to a business has most likely never owned much of anything, yet alone a successful business.

Its the point-of-his-story and not the 75 cents, to me it was very simple to comprehend... :ho:

A Martini was my drink. I never accepted a Martini that wasn't up to the brim. That's the way they should be served. I always sent short ones back for a fill up.

The Fish and Chips ( or fries) are soggy and in-edible and $42.00 for two people, and served in PLASTIC BASKETS is an insult

The 75 cents is not the issue. It is the principle. I get it.
