Favorite Village and why?

Hi!
I feel this question has already been asked before, but I can't find it, so will ask again. I know everyone likes certain Villages for different reason. What is your favorite Village, and why is it your favorite? We have bought a piece of land, and have put our house on the market. But with real estate soooo slow, I am thinking ahead. We are trying everything we can think of to sell our house, both the traditional things and non-traditional, including burying a St. Joseph statue. We also have had a wonderful neighbor we have never met take the time to send us some dirt/sand from our property to sprinkle around our FOR SALE sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But in case we lose our current land because we can't sell in time, just wanted to hear some things about the other Villages from the people who know them best!!! Thanks...

I think everyone's favorite village is the one they've chosen to live in. I know for me I have to live north of 466. I need the little bit of privacy the vegetation here gives and I really don't have the patience to wait 5 years to get that. Besides, full grown trees and hedges are just soothing to look at and the birds, butterflies and other critters like them more. (Sitting outside in the morning and watching the critters is a big thing to me.)

So, barring my own, I really like Springdale even though it is a bit out of the way. There's just something about the way it is laid out that I find very comfortable.

Another village I like is Tall Trees. I think it is in a great location and the people that live there are really friendly.

I like Pennecamp and Buttonwood but, for now, they're just too far out for my liking. Maybe once the new town square is done and more shops, etc. have been built around 466A, I'll like that area better.

Hadley has some hills, which is truly a big plus in my mind. Other than the humidity, I truly hate how flat Florida is and TV actually graded out a lot of hills and made things even flatter, so it's nice to see a mini hill or two.

In the meantime, here's hoping your place sells soon so you can come down.

Does anyone live in the Village of De Allende - on the map it looks like it could be one short street.

And for RW, a view of a few Norcal hills, aka Mt Konocti elev 4300 ft on Clear Lake (similar view from our porch - but five miles away)

My favorite is Bonita of course. We like it cause it is smaller then most, will be dead center of TV when fully built, dead center is Canal St which has very little real traffic for travel to LSL, close to Colony Plaza, like the rolling terrain, seems to be surrounded and have more golf courses intermixed to break up the housing areas more.
JMHO, cause of course everyone's Village is the best in their eyes, for all different reasons!

I live in Springdale and love it. It is quiet and close to the daily/weekly shopping that I need. I have 15 executive courses and four championship courses all within a 15 minute cart drive. Either town square is about a 30 minute drive and I travel to both in my golf cart for medical and entertainment purposes. It is 10 minutes to Summer Trace and the library.

It is an established community with trees, bushes, flowers, etc.

Thanks for the replies. We are going to be in Pennecamp if we can sell our house. Does anyone know approx. how long it takes from there (say from the pool) to get to the 2 town centers by golf cart? Are any of the activity centers "better" or more active than others? Do all of the Villages have exactly the same ammenities or are some Villages better? Also, does anyone know how far Walmart and Publix is from Pennecamp by golf cart?? Thanks!!

There are 2 Wal-Marts and 5 Publix stores in TV.

Closest Publix to Pennecamp is in Colony Plaza or Southern Trace Plaza maybe a Twenty-five minute golf cart drive. Sweetbay Supermarket in Lake Sumter Landing is probably the closest supermarket to Pennecamp.

Closest Wal-Mart is on 466 in Buffalo Ridge Plaza maybe Thirty-five minute golf cart drive from Pennecamp

I've never been to Pennecamp but looking at the map it looks to be about 20 minutes by cart to Lake Sumter Landing and maybe 45 minutes to Spanish Springs.

BUT we love LaZamora, 2nd smallest village in TV, tree canopy entrance, wonderful wonderful neighbors, close to tree lined golf courses, located between both squares, GREAT restaurants close and the bonus - NO bond!
But I must admit, I would be happy anywhere in paradise. Good Luck selling, you will love this place.

If my golf cart wont take me from Pennecamp to Walmart on 466 in less then 25 minutes, then it goes on the block. Pennecamp to LSL is under 10 minutes. Pennecamp to Colony Plaza maybe 15 minutes.

I guess either, I don't know the short cuts or my gas cart is extremely slow. But to get to LSL from Bonita is 10 min, straight down Canal, to Wal-Mart is 35 min using the Belvedere tunnel. I don't understand how the drive times from Pennecamp can be shorter.

If you don't want to live in MY village, which is the BEST, than get a map.

If you want to build a home, choose Pennecamp, Buttonwood, St Charles and Tamarind Ridge. There are some spaces left in Bonita and Hemmingway too, I think.

If you want to walk to dancing every night than live in The Villages close to Lake Sumter or Spanish Springs.

If you want to be really close to a grocery, buy a house close to Kathie 1 or Donna or MelZ.

If you are a Polo fan, or want to live close to Theatre, than choose a place close to the polo fields or Savannah Center.

If you like to get to shopping quick, than position yourself close to the 466 or 441/27 corridors.

If you want to woodwork, choose a place close to the woodshop.

If you want to play softball, choose a place close to the softball fields.

If you want to live in an all Premier village, choose Bridgeport at Lake Sumter, Bridgeport at Lake Miona or Bridgeport at Miona Shores.

If you like to go to the pool, love to play cards, like to walk your dog, enjoy bicycling or running, want to join an art class, enjoy friendly and outgoing people, want to be invited to a potluck, like to argue about sports, like beautifully kept homes and yards full of flowers, like a diverse mix of all sizes of homes, want to live in a predominantly Republican area, like to ride your golf cart to the grocery, to the doctor, to the restaurants, love to be smiled at, than choose my village.
