We hope to move to a rental during September and start construction of a new home. We will need storage for our belongings for 4 months. Have sold almost all furniture, so this is all the other "stuff". What is the experience with the various storage provoders in the area?

Will it fit in your garage?
Check the moving company and see if they will store it.

Pods might be the answer. You pack your stuff in a pod and the shipping company will rent you the pod for a few months and move it. Do a web search and see what is available. You might be able to store the pod in an RV lot.

Obviously I don't know how much stuff you have, but would it fit inside the garage of your rental?

If you want a decent storage unit, my wife and I used Fort Knox storage. They have 2 locations, one on 441/27 and the other on Rolling Acres Rd. Very friendly and helpful people. They have climate controlled and regular units, and it is gated, so it's as secure as possible. Here's the website:

The owner is a Viet Nam vet who spent time rescuing POW's after he got out of the military. Very interesting guy.

Fort Knox was full for the size we just needed so we ended up at Extra Space Storage on 466 just past Rolling Acres Rd. First 2 months are free. 325-674-1060. If you want more info PM me.

Try PODS --you can get the cost on the phone
They will deliver the POD to your home --you fill it --they pick it up store it in their facility ---and bring it back when you want it
I am looking at it for Moving and storage from NY ---
Good Luck
