Yesterday I received my first "FRIEND" request from Gracie, my first IM from Sally and Phillis explained what a "FROG" is. I now feel like a real Villager. Thanks for everyone on TOTV for making me feel comfortable before I get down there. Later, Tom

Tom, that's how it is on this forum. The first time you come to Crispers you will see it in action. Lots of hugging and high-fives as if we knew each other all our lives. It is so much fun and hasn't been a disappointment for me in the years I have been a member of this group. Welcome aboard... Glad you're here and feel the love!!! :loco:
PS, can I be friend #2????
I'm trying for Friend #3. Watch it Tom, you'll have friends spilling from the computer any time now... :)

I've also felt very welcomed using this forum and receiving comments. Even reading the posts of others and the info shared has made me feel a part of the community before arriving. Thank you so much!!! We leave Denver 9/24 and arrive 10/1. This time right now is so hard!!! The packing, the moving sales, the 2 hour notice of someone wanting to see the house, resigning from work, already saying "So long" (in Pa Dutch you don't say "goodbye," you say "so long" which Grandma said was short for "it will be so long until we see each other again," but never say "goodbye") to friends I know I won't see before 9/24. This part is really the hardest. I think once I'm in the truck and heading southeast, I'll be fine. I love new adventures with my husband and we're way over due. I look forward to my 1st lunch at Crispers. Do I tell you my name is Scrapple? Anyway, you all seem like an easy going, accepting, fun loving bunch yet will give the firm paternal nudge when norms need to be expressed. Thank you for all I've learned so far! But, you know, I STILL don't have the lay of the land!

This is a great forum and I made so many friends over the past few years. We use to have a lot of people come into chat every night. It was a lot of fun. Now hardly any one comes in. I guess because Mayor Kathie our leader has forsaken us to go out and dance every night. So it you want to chat I try and go on every night from 8 till 11 so if I am not there just wait and I will show up. Welcome to TV, TOTV and Buttonwood.

Hardly anyone requests to be my friend.:cryin2:
I push myself on dear, new, unsuspecting people.
I remember when I was new. I wondered whether these people were "real".
Or whether anyone would be my "real" friends.
They are and they would.
I have made wonderful friends on this site.

I'm kinda jealous. I never received a friend request from Gracie. That would be a sure way to know that you have arrived as a Villager, imo. Congratulations.

I have made wonderful friends on this site.Dear Gracie, When one enters Buckingham Palace, it is considered bad form to exclaim " Yo, Liz! How's it shakin'?" And let's face it Gracie, in the world of TOTV, you are royalty. I am also one of your friends and am honored to be, but I would have been to intimidated too request it from you. So keep on making friends Gracie, and know that everybody out there is dying to accept!:clap2::clap2:

Graciegirl,
I warmly accepted your invitation to be your friend, sent a note to introduce myself, but honestly can't tell if it went thru. I'm not very savey at techno stuff. So, I'll hope to meet you at Crispers sometime, maybe an oil class WAY down the line (I think I'll have much to do when we 1st arrive). I think the beauty of this forum is that I get to meet people ahead of time. As I whined in my post of how hard this time is, the real challenge will be getting there and starting new with relationships. This forum makes it seem very easy and I hope it is. See you all soon!

I've been a silence reviewer for a couple years now and wife and I finally made the decision to make the jump and move to The Villages. Was down for lifestyle preview 2 years ago and stopped by for a day last year for another look. Put house up for sale here in Houston, Texas and working with the Villages relacation and Sales teams on the sale and move. Wife is now looking forward ot the move. She has a brother who owns and is a part timer in the villages and that helped with the decision. Really looking forward to this move and getting there.

Welcome to the Forum TomG. We have a TomG and a TomH on this thread.
I hope that your home sale goes smoothly and you find a beautiful place here.
I think you must have drunk the water too.
I never dreamed that I would own a home in Florida. I don't like Florida, but I love The Villages.
Best wishes to you both.

I felt the same way. Always thought old people went to Florida to die. Truth is- They come to The Villages to live.

Thats exactly right Tom. We come to The villages to do alot of living and The Villages has some strange magical effect on people and they actually feel young again. I dont understand it exactly but its wonderful!
Good luck with your buying and selling. It is worth all the effort in the long run. Life is good!:a040:

Hi Oceangirl,
You won't regret it for a minute! We're not frogs yet, but every time we are there, we love it more and have a harder time leaving. Welcome to Lower Paradise!
