For those of you that miss Demshars, they have moved to Stonecrest and opened Cheers at Stonecrest. Same great food and service. Everyone is welcome. CheersatStonecrest.com. They have a great Sunday Brunch with free Mimosa's.

They had some pretty serious health violations at Spanish Springs and I haven'e been there since, have no desire to go to Stonecrest. However, there is great "under new management" restaurant at Continental Country Club called The Oaks, former management at Rose Plantation has taken over, great food, reservations highly suggested.

Just took one bad experience and it wasn't even related to their food because we never got that far.

Agreed. We went to Demshar's twice.
Haughty waitress both times. Wait staff is not doing the customer a favor. I don't like being treated condescendingly.

The family went there for lunch some time back. Only thing I remember it was dark inside.

From past personnel experience I recommend you scrutinize your bill carefully. Especially on daily and happy hour specials.

Agree. We ordered a pizza and were charged for 2.

Hubby and I were in Spanish Springs a couple of days ago and see that Demshar’s is open again. We didn’t dine there but were surprised to see the Spanish Springs location operating again.

:icon_wink: I agree! Different owners, different name, and same canopy out front that says "Demshar's". :1rotfl:

Aha...I don’t miss it either. Went there once with a friend for lunch & it was not good. I had fish, but it was dry & tasteless. So I asked the wait person for tartar sauce. She finally returned about 12 minutes later with some concoction. Awful. The service was not good.

They are keeping the Demshar’s name?

They are keeping the Demshar’s name? The new name is Augustine's 1812 House, but the canopy over the front door hasn't been changed and still has the old name. Maureen & John McIntyre are the owners. They are advertising in the Daily Sun.

Happy to hear we have a new restaurant in The Villages. What type of cuisine is on their menu?

The original Demshars had hired a group of former employees from Mission Inn (located in Howey-in-the-Hills) as chef, manager, and servers. They were terrible at Mission Inn, and were terrible at Demshars.

Owners of the Lighthouse Point Restaurant bought it and it is not called Demshars. Should be great for Italian. Big improvement.

Just guessing but maybe a sign company is making the new sign for the front of the new restaurant and when it comes in they will take down the old Demshars and put up the new Augustine's 1812 House.

Dined there Friday evening with good service, good food and no crowd. Had a 6:00 reservation which was not needed. Restaurant was less than half full and by the time we left at about 7:3o the restaurant was almost empty. If you liked Demshar's in The Villages you will like this new location.
Returned today for lunch and the place was almost empty. Lunch for three was enjoyed and we will return. Not gourmet, but good food for the price and a change from the places in The Villages which we have become somewhat bored with after 10+ years.

Are they using outdoor seating and are there any COVID restrictions.

Staff was wearing masks like most seen in businesses around here which are for appearances only. Didn't notice other precautions, if any, because it didn't concern me or my party members.

You are not concerned about Covid precautions? Are you already immune to this disease and can not possibly transmit the disease? Asking for a friend.

Help your friend get an account and have them ask the question and I might respond. :boom:

If it's the typical style brunch (go through a line as opposed to ordering from your table), I wouldn't go there during a pandemic.

New signs are up and menu is posted outside the door. Looks like a good menu, might give it a try this week.

Let people live their lives the way they see fit.
It is those people that have stressed our country's health care system. Some hospitals have to make decisions who they should give health care to and who does not receive the health care. There are ambulances that can not unload their patients for 8 hours and the EMTs are told to decide who they transport to hospitals and who they feel will not make it should not be transported.
I CAN NOT believe this is our America. Oh yes, let people live their lives the way they see fit. They are ruining this country!!!
