Cody's is the one restaurant that I was not too happy with the way they constructed the plexiglass on top of the backs of their booths. They left a large space between the bottom of the plexiglass and the top of the back of the booth. That space defeated the purpose of installing the plexiglass to begin with.
I filled out a customer suggestion form about 3 weeks ago to voice my concern. Hubby and I went back to Cody's LSL location a week ago and I was pleasantly surprised to see they have made a great attempt to close that gap. They "plugged up" the gap and it gives the impression of being a safer environment for diners.
Thank you to Cody's for acting upon my concern. Actually, it was probably several people that voiced a concern and not just me.

Easy solution: DON'T go there.
I am sure that they did only what was mandated to do to reopen and get customers back.
You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please everyone all of the time.

I always ask for a table when I eat out. Too bad they don't put doors on the booths so I don't have to look at those scary cats that need a hazmat tent in order to eat out.

You are absolutely correct about not going to a restaurant where I don't feel safe. I agree with you about that. However, Cody's is one of our favorite restaurants in TV and we wanted to see if they did anything to rectify the flawed design of their safety precautions with the booths. I was happy to see Cody's did make the improvement.

I always ask for a table when I eat out. Too bad they don't put doors on the booths so I don't have to look at those scary cats that need a hazmat tent in order to eat out.
It is smart to be careful but that's just me.

Not sure why people would get up in arms about someone sitting at another booth with their back to you. How exactly are they going to spit on you or touch you, plexiglass or not? I'm sure someone will figure out a way for someone to sneeze out of the back of their head and direct the droplets right through that gap.

According to a poll by Open Table, 74 percent of restaurant customers prefer a booth over a table. Why? Because it's cozier.

I'm sure someone will figure out a way for someone to sneeze out of the back of their head and direct the droplets right through that gap.
Among the germ theorists. There are those armed with microscopes and others with fly swatters.

Duh. I think I would fire the guy who designed the plexiglass with a gap above the booth.

I'm hoping the plexiglass will lessen the possibility of aerosols from coming my way. I know the plexiglass will not put me in a cocoon but less aerosols is better than more.

Hubby and I have always preferred a booth over a table for the coziness and that is pre-pandemic too.
