Our new home has all Samsung appliances and the microwave started giving us an error warning. The Warranty department says contact Samsung.
The first call to Samsung a couple weeks ago and they gave us a four hour window for service. Nobody came and now call or even email. I call and they said someone will look into it within 48 hours. Still nothing. Contacted them by chat today and they told us it’s assigned to Lake’s Electronics out of Pompano beach and they should contact us within 48 hours. I looked up reviews for that company and they have horrible reviews. I called Samsung to see if it can be assigned to another company and they said no.
I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this problem before.
Anyone else have this issue? Thanks

What is the code and the Model Number of the Microwave? Maybe it's something simple.

Major problems even trying to get a service call SCHEDULED with Samsung>>Lake's. Long holds, hangups, then finally scheduled...no one showed here, either! Have another one scheduled. My warranty expires next week (1 year). If this one falls through, I'm going to raise holy "heck"! This is so beneath the standards set by the developer, mustn't be allowed to continue!

From our past experience with Samsung appliances is that we consider them as strictly disposable. When they work they are great and when they don’t, out they go. We do not buy Samsung because of our past experience with their warranty service. The only thing we buy is their TVs.

Can't say that I'm impressed with the Samsung appliances in our new home. They must have got an exceptional deal for such low quality merchandise. Velvet is right, best to consider them "disposable" and plan on replacing them in the very near future.

Yes, we had horrible service with Lakes Electronics just prior to COVID, trying to get our brand new Samsung dishwasher serviced. As stated in an above post, on hold, hang up calls, no show......I was furious, called our realtor, who reached out to the builder and the issue was resolved immediately. It was an issue that should have been fixed prior to closing. we got a new dishwasher through The Villages. Two months later I had an issue with my brand new gas stove, a gas burner would not light; the stove was pristine so no clogs. When I reached out to Samsung and was told Lakes would be out I could not believe they were still using them for repairs. I told Samsung I wanted another vendor and that Lakes was horrible. Samsung stated they were the only vendor for The Villages. Hence, the next day Lakes called and made an appt for the following Tuesday. That Monday Lakes did call, stated part was not in but they would call when it arrived. No call came but fortunately my husband was around the following Tuesday and tech showed up stating we had an appt, which we did not but were grateful he arrived. He assessed the situation and said new part needed, he would be out the next day. Next day came and he arrived, stove works great. I think I heard The Villages is going to GE now? If so, suspect it could be because of this vendor and lack of repairs services for The Villages.

You all think YOU have problems with Samsung? Check out this Facebook group (I think you have to sign up to see it). It's about more than refrigerators. Lots of good info to get them to replace or refund without waiting for an appointment. One of the problems of living out here in "the sticks" is lack of authorized service folks who are less than an hour or three away. I have one of their dud refrigerators we bought when we moved here 3 yrs ago. SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR RECALL U.S.A. NOW Public Group | Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1520337151601316)

I looked it up on YouTube and it says to disconnect a wire behind the grill and then put everything back together and give it a shot. It that doesn't work they say it's the MotherBoard.
Stick with the Warranty Dept. You won't get any satisfaction out of the YouTube fix. Good Luck. Sorry for your trouble.
The same thing just happened to me on a Stove after a lightning strike about a hundred feet away from the house.

Have had a whole kitchen full of Samsung for 10 years now. Best Fridge we have ever had. A burner element went out on the cook top and that was a not expensive quick fix by local guy Dave's Appliance repair.

I have been trying to get my six appliances registered for six (6) weeks. Now they are registered and the warranty dates are wrong and expired. Their customer service by email, phone... stinks! The worst I have ever seen. I think they should change the name from Customer Service to No Service Here.

The Villages are going to the appliances they can make the best (cheapest) contract with. We have replaced most appliances in homes we have purchased. They just don't think about the consumer when they put this stuff in our houses. Give us a credit and no appliances. LG makes good and serviceable products.

Hate to be negative so I apologize at the start. We bought our new home Nov 2017 and although we love it, we’ve had to have the repair folks out numerous times for the microwave. Panels replaced, Etc....
The refrigerator (love the style)malfunctioned in small irritating ways almost immediately. What is broken now, we refuse to have repaired again.
Our stove and dishwasher however, I’m happy to report have been functioning very well.
We decided early on to engage an excellent private repair person, and he has been the go to. Good luck.

They must be getting kickbacks on the Samsung appliances they buy. Why else would they buy such junk. Even the Samsung TV's, which used to be the best, have now sunk to low reviews. Partly for the small stupid remotes that no one can navigate.

We had Samsung refrigerator prior to 2014 and loved it but I'm guessing things have changed since then as there a many complaints about Samsung on TOTV and Nextdoor sites. Last house we had GE and liked those, although they were upgraded.

Yes we have had problems with Samsung and Best Buy. We bought 3 Samsung TVs with extended warrantees from Best Buy which included assistance/repairs from the Geek Squad. When we called the warranttee service/Greek Squad as directed from Best Buy (in store) they told us that Samsung would have to handle it and provided no number or further information. There seems to be a problem with the wiring of 2 TVs. Why buy Samsung or go to Best Buy when neither stands behind their products?

You know I am skeptical about that. I doubt that anyone from warranty would ever say anything remotely like "sucks to be you".
You can get great cooperation and effort from The Villages Warranty. It also helps to be nice...........You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

When they built houses with the GE Whirlpool they gave homeowners a 2 yr warranty. I found out that was not true it was 9 months and they did not contract it to local 3rd party.
Samsung started end of 2019 and warranty doesn’t deal with it and they don’t care either.
So many things people don’t ask about these things when looking at houses

My never used Samsung washing machine didn't work on the first try. Lakes came out 3 times and couldn't figure it out. I insisted they send someone else and Dish Home Services came and fixed it the same day. The mother board was bad. The supervisor met the tech 1/2 way to bring the board so they could do it the same day. Lakes had to order parts. I had to wait and it did no good. My new fridge was making a loud noise. Again Lakes came out a few times and did a few rigs that did nothing. Dish came out, replaced the fan and all has been fine. I see they are using Whirlpool now in the new houses. They have learned at our expense. INSIST on another company.LAKES customer service is lousy and the techs are not up to par.

I’ve heard of issues with Samsung but nothing specific. I was researching different brands when I was looking for new appliances this summer and Samsung seemed to have the most poor reviews. I purchased a LG refrigerator (so far I love it!) and Whirlpool for the gas stove, microwave and dishwasher. No problems with these 2 brands. Whirlpool is made in America.

Had the same problem with Lakes Electronics---extremely horrible custoner service...called Samsung and related my problem with Lakes and they have agreed to get another provider out---UBREAKIFIX...when I spoke with Samsung they told me that they had had countless complaints against Lakes and were reviewing about dropping them as a service provider.

We bought our Samsung TVs from Best Buy on 441 near Texas Roadhouse. The Geek squad help set up. I needed mirroring because I use one for art, I had a wall mount that can be used at all angles, TV at 90 degrees (horizontal as well as vertical). I have to have authentic colors, enough contrast, high definition etc. The living room TV had to be set up for gaming etc.
Two people came, including Brian from Geek squad. They stayed over 1 hour. Brian made sure (at least twice) that I knew exactly how to use the TV. He included security soft wear, he gave hubby and me his number to call for help any time. I have never had better service! Hubby just commented: “They surpassed our expectations, big time.”

No problems here until our icemaker died. My husband who is very smart as well as good looking researched the issue and found the part and fixed it. He said that parts are waaaaaaay overpriced on line. I know we grabbed the money from the fixit man but we are from another era that does a pretty good job doing stuff ourselves.
Plus. I have got to say that the people who answer the phone for the Villages Warranty are amazingly smart and nice and will do everything to help you but just like everyone else, it is wise not to cop an attitude with them.

I had a great appliance repairman before we moved here and we talked appliances because I knew I was going to need new ones. His one most emphatic recommendation was "DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG".
You can't get anyone to service them because the parts are so hard to get and they break down often according to him.

I have dealt with the Warranty Dept many times, always helpful. I do have to say, yes I stayed very nice, but the Warranty Dept offered no help other than to call Samsung which I guess that's all they could do. But, yup, I got the feeling I was on my own for sure, which I was but it did not feel good with a brand new home and appliances.

OP: Specifically, what does the microwave do and not do?
It powers on (the display functions). But does not cook?
Is that correct?
I have fixed four or five of these. It's not my business or hobby, I just wanted a free micro in the work locations that I was at.
Fair to say I have gotten pretty good at it.

When using popcorn or reheat settings it feels and stops after 30 seconds or so and the display shows error code c10.

Interesting, that's pretty much our story. Always Samsung phones, phones always last forever, have Note 9's right now and probably will outlast our desire for the latest camera and such. Also, TV's have been outstanding. Other household appliances, NEVER again is the decision. SHOULD have stuck with that after the washer and dryer, terrible, never do it thinking "well, just because that ONE person had a problem".... no, son's new VERY expensive French door "smart" refrigerator, terrible, and absolutely no service. They will do anything to hold you at bay until the warranty is expired. Write down EVERY call, EVERY name (most won't give them name so they can say "WELL..... WHO did you talk to ?" and you have to say "well they would only give me their first name, James", and then they hang up saying we have hundreds of "James", if you get a last name call back !" Nope, no more Samsung except for phones and TV's.

Same problem with Lake. Dishwasher panel damaged during construction. Just needed it replaced. Two no shows. Third visit, wrong panel. Fourth visit, damaged replacement panel, fifth visit fixed. Repairman was excellent when he finally showed up. Said that they are VERY busy. Home Warranty basically hung me out to dry on that one. They wanted nothing to do with Samsung. My first new home purchase every warranty issue I encountered was handled perfectly.
The worst part of Lake is the schedulers are in India.

I have now called at least .6 or 7 times to Samsung. First they said someone would come but they never showed that afternoon we stayed home. Then they said Lakes electronics would call to set up appointment, no call. Then they said Samsung would look into it and call within 48-72 hours, no call. Then I asked Samsung for a supervisor and they said a supervisor would call me later that same day. Days later, you guessed it. No call. I called today and they said they would send the problem to the "special team". And they will call within 48 hours. We will see. It going on a month now. Hard to believe a major corporation operates this way.

The Choice Home Warranty would not cover this situation. That warranty specifically excludes any appliance that is already covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
