I just spent the last hour or so reading the below thread

https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/villages-florida-general-discussion-73/new-video-contains-7-minute-segment-about-villages-312455/index6.html

I must say it was one of the best threads of civil discussion (sans a couple of comments) on a very flammable topic that I have seen on this forum. It had people from divided viewpoints actually coming together in a constructive manner to 'discuss'.

Then less than three days into the discussion, WHAM. The topic was closed.

For all the threads of misinformation, slams, etc that go on for weeks, I found it rather strange that the forementioned thread was closed abruptly. I guess all I can say is thanks to those that carried on a nice thread for a change.

Some threads you have to enjoy while they last.

/// - Tough to keep constructive dialog going in this format. How many people really looked at that video ? Or better yet even read my intro to the subject. It only takes one that reads a couple words and makes an assumption on a favorite trigger of his or hers then is quick with the keystrokes to derail the train. BTW some people love to promote a good train wreck.

I was surprised it lasted as long as it did, actually. Hard to keep political passion out of a thread that is about politics, and political passion.
