If some of the looney tunes get power, it could be the last of what we know it to be. I can’t imagine who would be filling all the positions of power! Can you imagine?

Happy to hear that and while I know this thread won't be lasting long what exactly does "believe" in America mean? What are we believing? If you mean "do l love my country", absolutely do but not sure what I am supposed to "believe"? After hearing some quack radiologist Dr being interviewed by/on RUSSIAN TV (RT) FROM THE WHITE HOUSE today I don't know what to believe anymore but YES, I LOVE MY COUNTRY, just can't BELIEVE what is happening to it.
Edit: The "quack" in question apologized: "I recently did an interview with RT and was unaware they are a registered foreign agent. I regret doing the interview and apologize for allowing myself to be taken advantage of. I especially apologize to the national security community who is working hard to defend us."
And on it goes.

I do love my country very much and believe in the principles on which it stands. What I don't care for is the characterization of folks (who don't agree with you) in extreme language such as - "Those people are communists" or "Those people are fascists". Listening to the loyal opposition usually yields better solutions/legislation. If I thought I had a solution to the polarization that we face, I would run for Congress - not that anyone would listen to me.

I put my life in harms way to take up arms for this Country in the 60's during a very unpopular war. I saw many my age go home in a coffin. I would do it all again if my Country ask me to. I do know a lot of people who do not believe in the values this Country was founded on. It makes me very upset.

Thank you for your service. My brother received the Purple Heart in that “war.” He also received cancer from agent orange.

thomas jefferson the third usa president, the primary author of our constitution said " the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.
Well applying his formula means anarchists lives must be forfeit as well as the masters that employ them to subvert our american way of life. Every president takes an oath to protect our country from all enemies foreign or domestic. So step 1 is to pinpoint the anarchists and their masters and bring them to justice by any and all means necessary including taking their lives if warranted.
Step 2. Pinpoint the masters and arrest them and take them to guantanamo as enemy combatants to cut off the heads of the
traitorous snakes and their organizations.
Step 3. If there really no such thing as a free press anymore and which has been lying to the public and inciting violence they should be nationalized and run by true people of character and public trust. That goes for 100 % of them.
You cannot defeat americas domestic anarchists with harsh language.
They must be defeated permanently by any and all means necessary.
Woe is me will not carry the day. Its the mantra of a loser
patrick henry is famous for saying " give me liberty or give me death!". Our mantra will be to support our president to defend this country against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Believing in America is not just a one sided argument. To suggest that someone doesn't believe in America because they don't also believe in your opinions is Nazi ism. That's just my opinion.
To wave the flag and exclaim that only a truly patriotic America will see things my way. To have your own thoughts and ideas that differ mean you hate your country and want to destroy everything it stands for.
My favorite song is "The Sound of Silence". Both the old version and the new one by the group Disturbed. It's only after you ignore the talking heads and the thousands that listen without thinking that you hear the sound of silence.

Have you watched the news the last few months? Apparently there are many people that don't believe in America. Our form of government in America is at risk. With all due respect to you,, From your post it sounds as though you are very uniformed or very naive.

It seems to me that too many of you have forgotten that this is a free country and one can have their own opinions. Having a differing opinion from yours does not make me unAmerican, it just makes me an American who thinks differently from you.

Jefferson wasn’t present at the Constitutional Convention. You’re confusing the Constitution with the Declaration of Independence.

I agree. But many like George Soros want to bring down America. Greed and money = Power. Everyone should look him up and read about his past.

I have resolved myself to believe in America, no matter who gets elected. It is only a 4 year term and then we get to go through this again. History shows that the USA voting for President is close to 50% +/- 1-3 points. My family is voting completely different from me. They fear the other side getting elected. With our current makeup of Congress, nothing seems to get done anyway.

Thomas Jefferson was NOT “the primary author of our constitution” (that was James Madison, and Jefferson was in France at the time), but of the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson was a strong supporter of the French Revolution and wanted President Washington and President Adams to declare war on England and support the French. He wrote, “ Even [political turbulence] is productive of good. It prevents the degeneracy of government, and nourishes a general attention to the public affairs. I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.” (Letter from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison (Jan. 30, 1787), in 11 THE PAPERS OF THOMAS JEFFERSON 92, 93 (J. Boyd ed. 1955). Jefferson was referring to Shays' Rebellion. Jefferson went on to say that "unsuccessful rebellions ... establish the encroachments on the rights of the people . . . which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions, as not to discourage them too much. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government." [I’m quoting from a 1997 scholarly article by Thompson Smith from Valparaiso University Law Review called “THE PATRIOT MOVEMENT: REFRESHING THE TREE OF LIBERTY WITH FERTILIZER BOMBS AND THE BLOOD OF MARTYRS'.”]).
I hope you are not recommending that sort of thing. When Jefferson was vice-president and in the four years after that, when he was out of office and before he became president, he was horribly disloyal to the president and paying scurrilous journalists like Benjamin Franklin Baiche and Philippe Freneau to write lies about Adams. This is why the Alien and Sedition Act was passed—because these men were trying to harm the country and force it into war. Of course, when Jefferson became president, he realized that Washington and Adams were right and that fighting for the French Revolution would have been a horrible mistake because it was a bloodbath.
Jefferson is often quoted out of context. I believe that if he were here today and feeling as he did in 1787, he would SUPPORT the BLM marches and consider the violence to be simply “the blood of the martyrs.” I DO NOT support them.

This is an interesting message. What does it mean? Does it mean “I believe America exists”? Probably not. It’s not like saying “I believe in fairies,” where many people would disagree.
I think what you mean is “I believe in America (the United States of America’s) AS . . .” Fill in the blank. Some might agree with how you fill in the blank and some might not. As a land of opportunity? As the land of the free and the home of the brave? As a democracy? As a republic? As a land of equality? As a land of peace? As a land of fairness? As the place that feels like home to me? As the place I want to be for the rest of my life? As a place I would die defending if necessary? As a city on a hill pointing the way of godly peace and prosperity to the rest of the world? As the Land that I Love?
The first of my ancestors who came to America arrived in Jamestown in 1609. The most recent arrived in 1900. They came from many countries. They came seeking opportunity, primarily. They wanted land, work, wealth, and the freedom to get them. If necessary, they fought to defend their country, in the American Revolution, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam. Some died in those wars. But they didn’t worship the military. America wasn’t about making war. Making war was what had to be done sometimes to have peace or to help others have peace. They worked hard. None of them got rich, but a lot of them got good educations and served their countries by serving those in need as nurses, doctors, preachers, farmers, teachers. Many went to other countries and served as missionaries (as did I).
They all loved America and were glad they lived here. They were all descended from immigrants who were grateful for the opportunity to be here. They voted in a variety of ways. They didn’t all agree about everything. But they loved America, and they loved being American. I love this country, too, and I’ve spent three years in other countries, so I can say from experience that I will stay here and not talk about moving elsewhere. I will stand for the Constitution and not talk about taking up arms if I don’t get my way. I will encourage peace and brotherhood and prosperity for all and be opposed to marching and shouting and rioting. I want America to last for centuries and be a beacon of hope to the world.
So, to say “I believe in America” is a start, but you need to explain what that means to you.
