View Full Version : Number of tickets issued per night at the squares.

I have been looking at tickets available for the squares and notice they are almost always gone. Looking at the webcams it appears the crowds are very lite. Are people getting tickets and not going??

The crowds sure do look light. Maybe just go and see if they let you in.

I've heard some people order tickets and then rip them up. It's their little way of imposing their will on you...

Suspect people go and leave say by 7 so as the evening goes on less and less people there.

So from all the answers you probably get the idea that no one here can possibly know the answer to your question and should not surprise you unless you actually think someone goes to the squares and asks people why they come and somehow ask those that don't come....why not????

Even if there were 300 tickets, they're not for a set specific time. Some people will come early, and stay for an hour and leave. Some will come early and stay for a couple of hours - and then a different group will show up the 2nd hour, stay for an hour, and leave.
And so on and so forth. No one is obligated to show up at the earliest moment, and stay all the way to the end. And some got tickets thinking "hey I might want to go to this, but not sure, so just in case, I'll get tickets." And some will say "ohh - something free! Who cares if I go or not, it's free, so I'll get tickets."
Doesn't matter though, after 6 you can get in without a ticket anyway.

There is another thread about this. According to the ticket takers who I asked at LSL, after 6PM you do not need a ticket as long as the capacity has not been met and from the looks of it with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions it is not met. If you wait until later (after 7) it's likely you won't have an issue. If you wait until 8 (the last set) it's virtually empty. Wit the exception of The Hoooooooligans a week or so ago and Clark Barios last night it looks pretty empty. Not sure why they bother with tickets they should just do the count then cut it off when met.

I was there last weekend and ordered tickets. When we got there, my sister-in-law wanted to shop because she said she could still hear the music. We then went and ate and then went over around 8. By then the barriers were down and there were 20 people left. :) The crowds are in the bars! We are from NH and were surprised that Florida doesn't have a mandatory mask law. NH does. :) But, I'm still coming back and I'll wear mine!

I read either on the entertainment website or in The Daily Sun in the last couple of days that after 6 PM those without tickets will be allowed into the square if space permits...so just go after 6 and see what happens...

That is way too logical. One way in one way out. XX total. One leaves one gets in. Etc.

There have more than A few posters that have witnessed this.
We were one who need a third ticket and the two in front of us picked their are tickets laughing that that keeps four people from infecting us if they can’t go to see music.
I asked if we could have one of their tickets if they were not going to use them. Both looked at me said something explicit, and then tore them up and threw them in the trash.

Get in after 6 without.
Waited on line, very short.
People gave their passes in when leaving.
We did the same when we left.
No problem with capacity, no wait.
Very easy and enjoyable.
People are distancing pretty well and respectful.
Life is good, do not listen to nasty, negative people, dance, dance, dance.

Plus, the idea is for the #square to NOT be crowded. So even if all the ticket holders are there, it will look a lot less crowded than it used to.

Tickets avoid long lines in the square which make social distancing difficult

I have gone to all the squares without tickets. I usually don't go until around 7pm when some people start leaving. They keep track of how many people are in there and let you in when the count is low enough. The bands have been excellent and I am able to keep my social distancing.

A "few posters" also claim to have signed autographs from "The 2 ladies in a golf cart with a clip board." Some even say they have photos of the Loch Ness monster ! Stories can be made up to accommodate all forums of FUD. Just because you read it on the internet or TOTV doesn't necessarily make it true. Sometimes The news is made to fit the print AKA B.S. YMMV!

I just visited TVs myself, on a Lifestyle Tour. I visited all 3 squares, and had a great time! I am from the Dallas, TX area. I was very surprised at two things....lack of masks and no social distancing in restaurants and on the square, and also the SMOKING on the patios! Yuk! I'm at the bar having a wine and appetizer, and a guy lights up, and then another guy lights a cigar! We don't allow smoking anywhere inside or on the patio. If you want to smoke, the restaurant owner has to provide a separate area for smokers, like outside the door. Then, the parade started, for two hours. It was an education to be sure! LOL! But overall I had fun.

So when you read my post that the 2 people in front of us in the box office ticket line tore up their tickets, you are either stating I made it up, and it can’t be true. So my credibility of an in person encounter with 2 people that used explicit language as to getting or using tickets, didn’t happen. I am guessing you must Not have been the couple behind us, realizing Some really do think controlling other people’s lives is their top priority. Or some are just living in their own world, and have no idea of reality

I noticed that all tickets get acquired within 10 minutes after the tickets become available for The Hooligans. I suspect that all the available tickets for the upcoming gig featuring the Spazmatics will also all get acquired within 10 minutes as well. The Spazmatics are basically The Hooligans dressed up and acting like nerdy guys from the 80s who play 80s music.

Here’s my thought on numbers. Say 200 (or whatever their number is) have tickets. Not all arrive at 5 pm. So at 6 they let people in without a ticket. Now others arrive with their ticket after 6 and they of course get in. So now they have more in the crowd than the original number. We saw Scooter and at first it was a comfortably spaced dance floor but way too close later. I thought having a certain amount of tickets would control that, but I guess not.
