Just bought a used cart. Tires are 10 years old. The front end bounces up and down. I am thinking the tires need replacing. Who does tires at your home? Thanks

Tires that are 10 years old would probably need to be replaced regardless of tread depth.
Usually when the front end bounces it means suspension issues particularly shocks.

If the cart sat for awhile try just driving it for a couple of days before you make a decision. They may (may) smooth out with a little bit of road time.

The tires are bias ply meaning if they sit in one spot for extended time they get a flat spot from the ground, they should round out if driven a few miles. Shock absorbers May be the problem but I doubt it.

Agree with the recommendation to drive it a couple miles, could be flat spots from sitting awhile. Also check air pressure in ties, could be too high makes things bumpy

Could be balancing.
Yes, I know, the majority believe cart tires are too small around to need balancing.
NOT TRUE!
Jack up the front and spin the tires to see if they are out-of-round;
If out-of-round, replace them.
if not, add weight to the top side of rim when spinning tire comes to a rest.
(The heavy side will settle at the bottom).
Repeat until spinning stops at random positions.
This indicates they are in balance.
Then, swap the front tires to the rear and repeat the balancing on the fronts.
(The rear tires are the drivers and will not "free-spin"; so they need moved to the front to spin.)
Totally cured our bouncing front end.
Try it before you pounce on this; you'll learn something.

Whatever you do, pay a little extra and get radial tires! The difference in the quality of the ride you will experience is amazing!

The tires don't need balancing - those are flat spots in the tires from sitting in one position. Two things will fix it, drive the cart and secondly deflate the tires and the problem will go away. These flat spots are worse in cooler weather since the rubber is more stiff.

I use Willies too. They do good work at a reasonable price and you don't have to worry about your cart being transported in the rain or left sitting with the sides up in the rain.

My cart is 9 years old, a 2011 Yamaha I bought from the Villages Golf Carts. Three of the tires still look like new to me, but I only drive the cart once a week when I play golf at a championship course. So that's about 60 to 80 miles a month on average for 9 years.

I had to replace one tire because I let the pressure get low and the edge wore out. So two years ago I called the Villages at Brownwood and they told me an appointment was 3 weeks away, or I could bring it in at 7:30 in the morning and leave it all day and come back about 4 to 5 when they close. Even though everyone hates Tire Choice at Colony, I figured I would call them. They said $77 out the door, which was the same price The Villages quoted, and they would have it done in an hour and I didn't need an appointment.

They were right, I took it in the afternoon, dropped it off, went to Fiesta Grande to eat and when I got back I had a new tire. As far as a bumpy ride, since I don't drive it but once every 7 days, when I start out there is a bumpy ride for a couple of miles. One side of the tires will get sort of flat from sitting all week. Once it warms up, the tires ride great.

I've used Willie for 9 years to perform my annual maintenance at my home. Even though I bought the cart from TV Golf Cart, I've never used them for anything other then buying accessories. Willie charges $70, I even use him once for a new battery, but he's kind of high on the price. In July my third battery was 4-1/2 years old and I went to Rural King in Leesburg, only about ten miles away and got a new battery for $54.99 plus tax. For a Yamaha look for 24F in the upper right corner of the top of the battery. The guy working in the battery department was clueless.
