As a newbie to TV I had not considered the opportunities to witness launches so clearly. A friend sent me this link from Thursday Nov. 5, 2020 launch.

Watched from our lanai. It was brilliant and easy to follow. With there was a jet somewhere or thought we could hear a faint sound.

It's worth a trip to Kennedy Space Center to view the launches. Although there can be delays be aware.

Last night's launch was one of the most spectacular in the 15.5 years we have been here in the Villages. We moved here in June or so of 2005.

I saw it when I was putting out the trash and didn't know what I was seeing-red tailed bright object moving too slowly to be a meteor and I thought it was a plane on fire; then suddenly the red tail turned white, then the bright spot disappeared. I didn't know what it was.

I’m in Collier by Brownwood Square. What direction do I look? Southeast? Can someone give me a landmark?

From where you are, it’s at about 100-degrees. Use the compass app on your phone to get a bearing. Looks like we’ll be blocked from view tonight by a line of thunderstorms near Orlando.

The view was brilliant tonight, but not as impressive as 11/5, due to the clouds

Well, I was very wrong about that and I hope I didn’t cause anyone to miss it as a result of my post. It took it a couple of minutes to get above the clouds, but once it did it was pretty cool. Very Sorry. 🥺

Our view this evening was great, the best we've seen in ten years here.

If you think viewing them from The Villages is great, you should make the trip down to the Kennedy Space Center and see one "in person". Seeing the rocket go up (as opposed to only seeing the rocket exhaust like you can from here) for about 15 seconds before the ripping, thunderous sound comes rolling across and hits you is an amazing experience.

If it's a "big" launch (like the manned launch on 11/15), they charge between $50 and $230 each, depending on where you get to see the launch from. If it's a "little" launch (like SpaceX sending up another batch of internet satellites), they have had deals where a carload of people can get in for $50 and see a launch of one "in person". Alternately, you can pay for a day's admission and not only see the launch but tour the facilities. If you've bought an annual pass there, you get to see the launch, tour the facilities, and do it again and again for a year.
