It's time for us to invest in a new golf cart. I've read in previous posts of folks who purchased outside of the villages and saved quite a bit of money. For those who did, would you mind sharing where you purchased from and if you would do it again.

I compared apples to apples the best I could between The Villages and one in Ocala, there were slight differences in what they offered and the price difference was minimal and more than made up by having use of a free loaner from The Villages while the new unit is being built, something that Ocala didn't offer. I also like the convenience of having warranty service near home when needed. You might save a few dollars outside but is it really worth it?

This thread from last month has a lot of good info. I always found when I wanted to find out info and quickly, the search button at the top of the page is great. I had a 20 page pad filled with answers to all my questions when I moved here ten years ago. There are other threads as well, just do a search.

If you read the thread above and others, the place that comes up a lot and is close by that is cheaper and had new Yamahas with warranty, is I-4 Power in Webster, about 20 miles south. Here's there website, apparently they are redoing it, but there is some info.

We purchased a Yamaha cart back in 2011 from Carts & Clubs in Ocala and have had it serviced annually by them over the years. At the time their pricing was similar to the Villages but I much preferred their rain curtain system they had developed and their seat upgrade options. Don't know what they are offering now but you might want to check them out. Located on 27 just south of Ocala.

Check the Sun newspaper for The Villages Discount Golf Carts. Although their supply is made up of refurbished used carts, the money you save vs. the cost of a new cart is worth a look.

I came to the exact same conclusion five years ago. Additionally, the salesman at C&C spent a lot of time comparing their cart to those sold by Villages Golf Car. Reminded me of the old Xerox comercial. So, I bought the Xerox.

I bought mine from Ocala dealer and love it . They come right to your door and do all the work in your driveway. You get a 1 year membership to Kart Aide.(sp). I'd check and see how long it takes for TV dealer to get your vehicle in for service. You might get a loaner but how long to fix? I'd rather have my own right away.

Yes Webster is a good place to buy a Cart. The only thing bad about buying there is a lot of options they don’t have a lot of options there for you to see. It’s mostly pictures. We put a down payment on one there but then went to Colony Cottage Yamaha & they actually beat Webster by $300. Plus got 3 other options for FREE. Webster did give our $500. down payment back with no problems. So yes if you don’t buy in TV, go to Webster!

Bought from them - they are over priced and definitely not discount. More like bait and switch. Buy new and save money.

We got an awesome deal on a premium refurbished 2020 Yamaha Drive 2 from Todd Stutzman at Village Discount. I did my research prior to coming down in early October &
They killed everybody on price & options. No contest.

The Villages Golf Carts are the LARGEST Yamaha dealer in the USA.....

When you compare apples to apples, they are competitively priced due to the sales volume they do......

Same experience as the first reply for the reasons stated. We ordered the cart before construction on our golf cart garage started. Things were delayed and they held it in their show room without our paying first for 1 1/2 months!

We purchased from The Villages and ordered a new cart. They advised that we could probably get more money on our old cart by selling it ourselves and they provided us with a free rental AND free gas while our new cart was being built. And, we did get several hundred dollars more for our cart selling it ourselves. Mark (the manager at Sumter Landing) was great to work with.

Let's talk real numbers.

Yamaha Gas, 2021, windshield, roof, lights and not much else 8,100 to 8,300 out of state. The delivery fee is lower than Florida sales tax, no sales tax as it is an out of state sale.

Standard seat, factory colors.

That's what we did. I don't need to be sweet talked though the Uber simple process of buying a glorified lawn mower. Some people do want that experience.

All aftermarket add ons are available locally at competitive rates.

I ended up buying in Leesburg, but, I it was difficult choice and at the time came down to timing and availability only. Eliminated several in the Villages for less important things, like arrogant attitude, an array of absolutely untrue discussions concerning engine specifications, etc. that revealed pure ignorance of even the basics of gasoline engines.
But, I have never heard anything negative about Carts & Clubs in all these years ! About ready for a new one and will try again when ready.

Carts and Clubs in Ocala. And yes, vog, it’s worth it. I don’t like to spend any more money than I have to and I’ve always saved a considerable amount of money for more cart at Carts and Clubs.

We bought our 2019 Yamaha Quiet Tech 14 months ago at Carts and Clubs, They are located at 4121 S Pine Ave Ocala, FL 34480. We paid almost $1200 less for our customized cart with specialized seats then what The Villages Golf Carts charged. Carts and Clubs comes to our home to do oil changes and maintenance. We were given a year of Kart Aid for free as well as a $50 gift card for Pasta Faire restaurant which we really enjoyed. We also got a free installed large grocery holder sack . All in all we are very satisfied with Carts and Clubs.

Hi we bought outside from VILLAGE ELITE GOLF CARS 3990 E SR 44 STE 305 WILDWOOD. Owner is Sam. Our car compared to The Villages was about $4000 cheaper we have custom seats. Bigger tires then normal ones. We have the color blue in our rims. Two phones chargers . And we have 5 yr bumper to bumper. He comes to your home and picks up your golf cart every year for maintenance. Awesome customer service. I will always deal with him. I would advise to check him out. Sam is very personable and wants to make everyone happy.

I was wondering if anyone was ever going to mention this place because it's right next to TV on 44 on the way to Wildwood. I remember in the spring when the shopping center was just getting rented and he had carts out by the highway. Hopefully he does well. He has advertised on his Facebook page new 2020 gas Club Car 4 seater lifted for $11,990.

Actually The Villages cart store in Sumter Landing fixed my cart in one day. The clutch had a problem, I had it towed there with no appointment and BOOM, done in one day. Now that is great service.

[Feb 2021 update: A few months after owning the cart, we are still satisfied except for the dealer-added LED light strips. The placement of the side strips is bad because they reflect off the windshield (photo attached) making it more difficult for the driver to see the road at night. Steve refused to fix this problem. Also, they installed LED strips on the front hood that we did not order and I don't like the placement. If you buy a cart from Country Village, I suggest you have any LED strips added after purchase by Liquid Lights.]

I ordered a new 2021 Yamaha EFI QuietTech golf cart I ordered Country Village Power Equipment, an authorized Yamaha dealer in Webster (just a 20 minute drive south of the Southern Oak/Fenny area). Country Village starts with a 2021 PTV model (not a stripped down fleet vehicle) that includes premium factory parts including the Yamaha “Ultra-Premium lighting package” (includes lighted logo). We added all options that are included in The Village Golf Cars “Lifestyle package”, including a hard Sunbrella enclosure. Here are approximate prices I was quoted in August 2020:

New 2021:
Country Village (Webster) $10,300
The Villages Golf Cars $12,300
Carts & Clubs (Ocala) $12,000

Refurb 2018:
The Villages Golf Cart $10,500
Village Discount Carts $11,700

The dealer in Webster offers the same selection of colors and upgraded seats you see at The Village GC, but does not offer self-cancelling turn signals. They will come to my house to perform maintenance. You can contact them at Country Village Power Equipment - Home (http://www.cvpeyamaha.com) or 352-793-3948. Carolyn was excellent in assisting us with picking out everything we wanted to build our cart. If you ask for Carolyn and let her know Glen Jones referred you, I think we both get a free maintenance visit.

Nothing but issues from Villages Golf Car from day one. Carts options not as ordered. Had to leave to be corrected. Backfire issue took three visits and talking to manager. Squeeky belt they never could correct. Neighbores using Clubs & Carts have much better experience.

Surely since Nov. 2015 there must have been other complaints about the Villages that you had. But it's good you got that off your chest today and made room for more turkey tomorrow. I bought 5 carts from them with no problems. :ho: Welcome to TOTV. 1 more Great first post.

When we were buying our first cart it was inside the Villages $16k and outside the Villages $13k. The $13k was exactly like I wanted including the cancelling directional so we went with the Village Discount Golf Carts. They are close enough that you drive over some grass and you are in the Villages. For our second cart we saw a used cart at Village Golf Carts so we bought it. So far so good on both.

We bought two 2020 golf carts last year—one from The Villages Golf Cars and one from Villages Discount Golf Car. I can speak directly about the comparison between these two places.

When it was all said and done, the golf cart from The Villages was about $500 more. Getting a re-furbished cart (even if it was less than one year old) was not worth that savings to me.
I would absolutely buy from The Villages again. They are a Yamaha dealer and can get accessories for the carts that others cannot. I believe those to be superior to the things installed by Villages Discount Golf Car. The lighting system, self-canceling turn signals, and wheels are just a few things that are better on our cart bought from The Villages.

The Villages also gets the nod for convenience of service. I also feel like they are more concerned about customer satisfaction than the Villages Discount Golf Car.

When it comes time to buy again, I will choose buying from The Villages Golf Car. I would also recommend this to anyone who asks.

Country Village Power (or I-4 Power) in Webster all the way! Steve and Carolyn are excellent in helping you select what you want. We saved $3,000 over the same cart and options at The Villages GC. We purchased over two years ago. Friendly, helpful and excellent service. They come to my house for annual service. Fantastic!

I also like knowing i can call the sales guy, drive 2 minutes and have an issue fixed.
