my yamaha gas cart brake lights

my yamaha gas cart brake lights stay on indefinitely when the parking brake is engaged. has anyone else had this problem.

As you probably know, the lights are supposed to stay on for about 3-5 minutes after you turn off the cart switch. There is a timer module that keeps the light on, and yours has probably failed.
