Go to amazon and order a double sided DMD diamond sharpening stone (medium and fine). Probably cheaper than one visit to a sharpening service, and will last a lifetime. Sharpening a knife is really quick and easy, anybody capable of using a knife can do it. There are a bunch of you tube videos out there that will show you how it’s done. You could sharpen everyone’s knives in your neighborhood in the time it would take to drop off and pick up your knives at a Servive. We could shave with every knife in our house. And remember, most knife accidents happen because of a dull knife.

Call a nearby butcher. The one near me in Michigan will have them sharpened for you for a nominal amount.

Call Bob Brenner 352-459-1780. He has professional equipment and is an expert. In the past we used various grinding tools and managed to ruin some of our "highend" knives. Once we found Bob - he not only recognized we were using these grinding wheels, but explained why it was a poor choice. The results of his work are amazing and not overly expensive.

ps - there is a knife sharpening person at the Marion Market. I have not used him, but have read not so good things about the result.

Market of Marion had a booth for knife sharpening. You can drop them off and pick them up the same day. I would call before you go to see if they are still operating a booth. Here is the information for the market

Call Ned Diefendorf at 586-823-6996. He lives here in the Villages and has sharpened my high quality knives multiple times. He does excellent work. He charges half what I paid where we lived before TV. The first time he even gave me a follow up call the next day to be sure I was happy with his work!! Give him a call, you’ll be so happy you did!

CUTCO offers sharpening service on a regular basis. Go to CUTCO.COM to be notified of the next local event. They do a great job at a reasonable price ($5/knife). Yes they offer their knives and free repair and sharpening for life. No pressure to buy. Lately they have advertised in the Daily Sun and have a conference room at the new Brownwood Hotel.
