My favorite, OUR favorite are cabbage rolls. I don't know the correct name in Polish or any Polish. As a young person I attended many wedding receptions where Cabbage Rolls were served. Is it called Golabki? Will they have them????? Wait I will look at their menu. This sounds WONDERFUL.

I found that Golabki is Cabbage Rolls in English but it says it is pronounced Go-wump-kee. Polish must be challenging to read or learn to speak.

They will be at Brownwood today????

Speaking of eastern European food, does anyone know of a restaurant in TV that serves borscht with or without cabbage?

Correct pronunciation Gracie. Sometimes baked, other times boiled in Tomato Soup.
A variety of ground meat fillings. There are many other Eastern European names / recipes.. eg Ha-loop-kie .

Did you say cabbage rolls? Yum! I know how to make it with fermented cabbage leaves, rice and two types of ground meat, or with tomato sauce and I add sour cream on top. I’m not Polish but my childhood friend next door was, as far as girlfriends go she was “the love of my life”. Can’t wait.

You can buy great Polish sausages, cabbage rolls and much more at the Polish Deli in Leesburg. They are from Poland and make all their own meats. Been there over 20 years now. Great food, reasonable prices and friendly owners.

Restaurants tend to overcook the cabbage and make it rather tasteless.

Good news. We need more interesting ethnic cuisine in the area without the need to drive an hour away. How about Indian, Middle Eastern or Greek? But it needs to be good or it goes out of business fast.

Hello, Gracie, dear. Your pronunciation is correct. This is an excellent example of two Polish letters: Ą ą and Ł ł. As in gołąbki. Sometimes it is also called pigs in a blanket. I don't know why.

My favorite Polish food is " Garagekey". Ho! Ho!. I used to go to the Polish festival every year in Riverhead, LI, NY. It was great. Our Moose club used to run the beer concession. Krakow Beer was the big seller. 20,000 people used to attend.

I tried the platter and was pleased. My wife had the red sauce pigs in the blanket and really like the red sauce. I had the brown gravy with mushrooms on my Pigs ( it was my first try at brown gravy) and it was fine but would order the red next time.

How about adding duck (blood/chocolate) soup on the menu? I've never found a restaurant that served it but I really like it the few times I tried it as a kid at home. Not for everyone, I'm sure, but it would be a really unique polish soup!

Has anyone else tried Duck soup?

A small piece of advice for what it's worth. A larger sign out front close to the road would probably help business. The Polish deli sign on the building is very hard to see unless you're really looking for it. All the cars coming off the TurnPike will never get a chance to see that sign, they are coming off the ramp so fast.

Good luck with your new business!

Went tonight and having eaten Polish food my whole life, I have to say that it was the worst meal I have ever eaten. The Bigos was over cooked. It was like it had been sitting in the pot for a week. The pierogis were just fair. The kielbasa was dry and to top it no horseradish. I will say that there was one bright spot, the potato pancakes. They were fresh and tasty. To top it off, poor social distancing and a mediocre wait staff. I was really hoping for something good. I hope the can get their act together.

We stopped there last Thursday for some nut rolls and pierogis. Unfortunately they were all out of them. A gentleman from the kitchen walked out to check, and he said, he had just put some out the day before. They go fast, and they haven't even officially had opening day yet, which I believe is Monday, the 5th of April.
