Can anyone please recommend a plumber to reconnect our gas line to the stove and dryer? I called Mike Scott Plumbing and they said it would be six to eight weeks. They just could have said we don't want to do it.
The gas is now reconnected. Thanks for all your help.

I would call the gas company. If they won't do it, maybe they can suggest someone.

Thank you. I called Teco (Peoples Gas) this morning and they don't do it but had a list of providers, most all of which are in Ocala. Still working on it though.

why was it disconnected in the first place ? Did you have a house pipe leak? If so a pressure test is needed on your entire gas line system. From the meter outlet using a manometer. Make sure they use pipe stick not teflon tape on all the threads
40 years in the industry.
Good luck.

Scott plumbing charged us $80 just to put a cap on kitchen gas line when we switched to an electric stove. I could have easily done it for a few bucks for a galvenized cap but I was told a plumber had to do it. He was there all of 3 minutes. Find someone else.

If a plumber came to your house and only charged $80, I think you got a bargain, even if he did nothing.

Typical of services now.. if its not a big job with mega bucks they are not interested. Sad for those of us who used them all for the first 10 years and set them up.. now we dont count anymore, as we just have small repairs. What goes around comes around.....

There are costs to running a business. I used to feel the same way. A vehicle insurance ECT. Costs money. That was very reasonable.

Nick you are so right. I am the retired half of Investment painters I ran the company for 40yrs. All my employees got paid from the time they came to work until they went home. I had to plan the day so that they spent as little time in the truck as possible and more time on the job. That being said I had to buy each truck and maintain it. The other cost included gas, repairs, insurance. Then you have office and warehouse and phones for the lead men. Lets not forget SSI, workers comp, liability, holiday pay, vacations and retirement. So the plumber charged $80 that is cheap for a service call. Len
