I had two close friends growing up. During the early 1970's we all went in different directions and disappeared. After nearly 40 years I learned that both of them also live in TV. None of us were aware the others lived there. I already hooked up with them and we had a blast. Small world.

Tom,

I'd love to see pictures of the reunion.

What a wonderful surprise for you! It really is a small world and it seems TV makes it even smaller. I've seen the newspaper articles of people meeting childhood, military and young adult friends here. It is nice to see a personal account. Thanks for sharing.

Speaking of the "old gang." (this is really kinda highjacking this thread though, sorry).

Back in the early 70s, there was a young reporter who worked for me when I was the news director of an upstate New York radio station. He was a wonderful reporter and writer but a screaming pain in the *ss. I actually fired him a couple of time.

He went on to become the political director for CNN. He was one of the top management people at the network for years and years. He planned and directed CNN’s coverage of presidential primaries, debates, national conventions, general election campaigns and election nights. He was executive producer of Inside Politics and produced over 30 nationally televised presidential debates

His name: "Tom Hannon."

Different Tom Hannon. LOL. I didn't think the world could handle two Tom Hannon's. PS: I bet his whole name was not Thomas Joseph Patric Hannon.
