Why are so many threads closed? I see threads that are only days old and are closed. Is someone just making arbitrary decisions on what they like or don't like?

A better question to ask is "Why did it take so long for many of the threads to be closed?"

:icon_wink: Hey if you still want to be here tomorrow you better read the site rules. You are not allowed to ask that. :ho:

Do you remember when you came to this site for advice, recommendations, and sometimes prayer. Those days are gone. Think about those who came to this site on a regular basis, and you enjoyed their thoughts. Now even some posters are becoming embarrassing, and sometimes threats on what they want to do to others because of their posts.

Threads are mask, no mask, never leave your house, live like there is no tomorrow. Political and under the table political. It’s getting old.

I used to look forward everyday to reading TOTV, for words of wisdom, what business was the best ever, and how a neighbor helped someone, and didn’t need a thank you.
I now spend maybe 10 minutes per day on this site, sometimes I don’t sign in for weeks.

It’s not just the status of 2020 issues, it’s been coming into ugly for a few years. Glad threads are being closed, maybe everyone needs to take a step back, and remember what this site was years ago. If some think I am out of line, then fine. But many have been on this site have been here long enough to remember a kinder time.

Threads are closed when they veer hopelessly off topic, become overly contentious, too partisan/political, or just burn themselves out (e.g. the original question has long since been answered). You don’t see all the posts within a thread that we have to delete for being political, off topic, directed, nasty, or other site violations.
