You didn't say if you believe the silver is of artistic/antique value or you are looking to sell the metal. If the latter look at

They pay 90% of the market value of the silver by weight in sterling. They have limits on the kinds of silver they will accept but they have been in business for many years. If this is 925 sterling silver you can weigh it yourself and multiply the ounces by .925 to get the weight in silver.
