Mr./Ms. Moderator, when you close a thread, as you did recently about the “wearing a mask” one that turned political, why don’t you just delete the entire thread?
We’re still able to read the postings that caused the thread to be closed in the first place; why not delete it to where the political “ranters and ravers” can’t return to gloat over their postings that got it closed?

Agree.................take out the posts and the violators............not the thread.

Interesting your somewhat disturbed that people go back to closed threads to gloat over them , how sad that someone would even give that a thought and how sad if it’s true .hmmmmm

What you see are the posts that are left in...you don't see all the posts we had to delete that caused the thread to be closed.
When we have to start deleting more posts than are allowed to remain, it's time to close the thread. It's always a judgement call. Some people complain that we close them too soon, others feel it should have been closed/deleted from the outset. We do leave the thread visible as often there was productive/on topic discussion before it went south.
Hope this helps explain some of the thought process we go through. We would be ecstatic if every discussion stayed on topic, wasn't partisan/political, and included no personal attacks...but, that's not today's online/anonymous world. We do the best we can.
