In the spirit of the season. Do you have relatives that also live in the Villages? Snow birds count.

My sister and her husband moved here a few years before we did. Had she not lived here we probably would have settled full-time in Pinellas County where we snowbirded for several years.

Both of my sisters live here. It is nice having my entire family only minutes away instead of hours away.

Yes. Two out-laws & one close family friend whom we've "adopted."

Yes! My brother & SIL followed us here. My husband’s cousin who decided to buy their first day here, despite many planned retirement destinations undiscovered.

Yes. Brother came about 18 years ago and brought my mother. I visited regularly. When I retired we were snowbirds for 3 years and then bought and came full-time 4 years ago. Love the warm weather and no snow but hubby misses the Fall colors. We can travel to see them.

Yes. My wife's parents have a house here. Additionally, my wife's sister and her wife also have a house in TV's. Her family is wonderful and I've been blessed to be a part of it.

24 months ago, I only knew that The Villages was a place in Central Florida, near Atlanta. A surprise birthday party for my maternal aunt brought family from all over the US, including me, an Oregonian. My aunt was my godmother, and I was the ring boy at her wedding long ago. She's lived here for 15 years.
While waiting for the party, we explored and we're glad we did as we were considering retirement places across the US.
We found out retirement home in August 2019, and moved here full time in January. I also learned I have a paternal cousin who lives here, too. Hadn't seen him in 50 years.
So glad we found The Villages!

My brother and SIL have been here since 2004 and my sister bought a seasonal home in 2018 when I moved here. Just knowing my siblings are only a mile away is comforting.

I made the mistake of moving here thinking I’d see my sister more and I actually see it hear from her less. She’s sick all the time from allergies the weather and the crazy doctors !
I’m going to sell move up north where the AC isn’t on 10 months of the year ! She won’t even notice

We moved here first and my parents followed. Hubby has 1 sibling and 2 nieces near Orlando, so all family that matters is in Florida. My siblings live 1200 miles away which is a good thing. LOL!

That's a shame (that she is not well and that you don't see her much). I have a large family but I haven't lived near my siblings most of my adult life. I am very happy to be near Sissy and one of my brothers these days. Hoping to get more of the fam to come down!

My family in VA love TVs, but they won't leave the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. But they love to come visit!

Yes, my Niece who is one day older than me moved here a couple of years before me. It's the reason I'm here.

Thank you for all the great answers. It would seem to me that the Villages would be a great place to spend with family along with all the new friends. I hope my story goes along the lines of having my brother and sister living nearby in the Villages, of course. Enjoy!

Even though Constance & I purchased our house three months before my brother Ted, he beat me to the punch on putting his sign up before us. His house is seven houses away on the same street.
