We had not eaten at Legacy since 2018 when it was still owned by the guy who ran Hemmingway's into the ground. Went this past weekend mainly because of the BOGO email we received ( no judging please).
What a pleasant surprise! We sat outside on the lanai at a white table cloth covered table. The menu was impressive with many items. I ordered the shrimp cocktail (jumbo Gulf shrimp!) and my wife and I had the Grouper on a bed of corn risotto. The fish was cooked perfectly and the presentation was spot on. Attentive service and an overall great meal. Reminded me of the meals we used to have at Hemmingway's before it went south. Highly recommend.

:coolsmiley: I think there was a compliment in there between 2 zingers. IMHO things are looking up on TOTV.
Suleiman Family Restaurants owns Legacy Restaurant and Havana as well as 2 other businesses, if I'm not mistaken. :ho:

Husband and I think Lopez is best dining of all the Country Clubs in TV. By far best service and food. And prices are reasonable. Just wish we lived closer ! (we are between 466A and 44)

Absolutely no judging but rather a question. How did you receive the email - that is what prompted it?

Good to know, haven’t made it there yet on our tour of CC’s. Thanks for the positive recommendation. We don’t get that many on here...

Where is Hemingway?
I think they mean Havana which is now (for the past few years) also owner by the same family, and is equally as good as Nancy Lopez. We eat there ofter. Try the Lobster Mac and Cheese. He puts a whole lobster tail in it. Never had a bad meal at either since the Suleiman Family took it over. They sure know how to run restaurants.

Where is Hemingway?
Hemingway was the name of Havana CC Restaurant when it was under the old ownership. Havana has had a rebirth as a excellent place to dine or have drinks. Great service and very high quality food at reasonable prices.

I would agree that Legacy is the top “best” restaurant in TV’s. As far as Havana,,, not worth the trip. Ate there twice,, first time they couldn’t get the drinks correct or the food,, brought out wrong food twice. Once we got ours it was very chilled. Then I got another tables food bill. The second time we tried them, I had folks in town and wanted show them a good time. I made a reservation on a Friday at 6pm, asking for outside table view of golf course. We arrived at 5:45 , got seated at 7pm,,,,,at a high bar table right next to the parking lot!! It took 45 minutes for anyone to wait on us, once they did we ordered. few drinks and appetizers,,,by the time we got all that it was 9pm. Once the waiter made her way back asking if we wanted to order,,, we asked for the bill and left. I will never spend my money at the place again,,,,HORRIBLE!

Suleman family owns:
Lopez Legacy
Lopez Pool Bar
Glenview Reataurant
Havana (Hemingway’s)
Red Sauce (Sumter Landing)
And
Milano’s in Ocala
They took lots of risks a d changed all menus multiple times. They gutted Lopez and did a complete renovation and first made it super end with $38 meals.
After multiple change of menus and much lower prices, they have turned all their restaurants around to please most customers.
They have done a fantastic job and we now go to all their restaurants with outside seating.

I’m south of 44 and been going there 3 or 4 times a month since they redid the place , and before the virus was still eating in Orlando a few times a month , at 81 no bubble for me and anywhere in villages is quicker then a couple of mile ride in Boston so sit back in your car , play some nice music and go anywhere you like including the food trucks

Purchase one of the VIP cards $20 good for life and you'll get regular emails of specials, events and coupons. Good investment.
Havana has a VIP card also.
Both restaurants are great since Suleiman family took over both.

Lopez is my favorite country club restaurant too. Palmer is my wife's by the way. But we love the new remodel. Each dining room has a different theme. And the food is delicious, reasonably priced and the service very "white linen tablecloth". We just gotta get up there more often. :)

Unfortunately my husband and I had gone to Nancy's for Thanksgiving dinner and did not have a good experience. The food came out luke warm at best and we had also ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer however our main course showed up first so we turned the shrimp away.
I am chalking this up to this being the holiday. We have had brunch there on two occasions and it was really good. I will have to go again the next time we are down there.

We have found that it doesn't pay to go out on the holidays. Overcrowded, the holiday up pricing and usually extra help hired without experience to fulfill the holiday crowd. We cook at home on holiday but go out the night before and the day after.

Have been to Lopez Legacy many times and have found the food to be excellent, ambience pleasant, servers and managers very attentive. Try their Steak and Lobster special Wednesday nights. $19.99...can't be beat.We brought our son and daughter in law there the night before Thanksgiving and they loved it, and they only dine at good restaurants.Have been to Havana maybe 3 or 4x. Pretty good. Got my friend's dinner order wrong 3x in one night. It happens. Went to Glenview yesterday for lunch with friends. Nice atmosphere and good burger. Red Sauce is another story They must pay for their reviews. We thought it was horrible. We are foodies and know good Italian food. The funny thing is, everyone I ask about Red Sauce also thinks it's not up to par.

Where is Hemingway?
Hemingway's was the restaurant at Havana Country Club before the Suleiman family took over and renamed it Havana. Hemingway specialized in fish including local gulf caught and fresh flown Island fish from Hawai'i.
