Black Roof with White Discoloration Marks

There are several of us in the Villages of Hillsborough, Gilchrest, and Lake Deaton, who have black roof with white discoloration stains. It looks like someone splashed whitewash over parts of our roof. Our houses were built in 2014. We are trying to identify other people who have a similar issue.

From the photo, it looks like paint has washed off from the trim onto the roof.

Hi, these marks started about two years ago but are getting worse. I did power wash The house about 6 months ago; however, I use Natures Way that does not use harsh chemicals.

There is a possibility that it is roof algae. It may appear white on black roofs and it appears black on the light colored roofs. We have a light colored roof and reported it the Villages Warranty department. They had someone come out and wash the roof which was covered under warranty. I believe this must be done before you reach 10 years.
