I've noticed our sliding glass doors harder to open and close after nine years. I was wondering if its time to have the rollers lubricated or replaced. I was getting ready to call the warranty office but wondered if anyone had any maintenance done on their doors.
Thanks for any recommendations.

I would give the track a good cleaning first. Then, considering that the roller system deals with 3 different materials (nylon roller, steel bearing, aluminum track), I would get a can of dry spray silicone and spray the roller area under the doors. Open and close the door to spread the lube, and give it a second shot. Let it sit for a few minutes, and give the track another wipe. Doors like new.

Yes I replaced mine. Not that hard, but doors are heavy. Plus you have to split the bottom off to get to rollers. Three different sized, if you do it make sure you get right size.
Go to “do it yourself”. Several topic’s on the subject?
Mostly likely the rollers are worn out, you can try jacking it up some with the adjustment screw see if that helps?

I have lubricated with the dry lubricant. Then about every 4 weeks I clean the aluminum track and polish it with auto polish. Keeps the track looking nice, makes it easy to clean and the door rolls very easy.
Hope this helps.
