Sliding glass doors have lost their vacuum

Hi everyone! We are new to The Villages and loving it. Can't wait for all the clubs and activities to restart!

Our home is four years old. Our sliding glass doors are clouding up and I'm wondering if they might be under warranty. Does anyone have any idea who installed sliders in Pine Ridge? Or who I should call at The Villages for info?

OP, I believe that window (and sliders??) seals are covered for an extended period, so yes call Home warranty.

Hope it is covered under home warranty, as it should be for a home that new. Ours failed also and got the fog between the window panes, but it was out of warranty. Lowe's replaced ours with a very nice Pella Slider with blinds between the glass and super smooth bearing rollers and a screen for when we want to leave it open and stay critter free. A great upgrade to the home.

Thank you for the info. I was referred to T&D Windows who told me that the warantee isn't transferable to a new owner. Oh well. We will check around for quotes.

Be sure and check with Lake Glass in Leesburg. As well as Romac

I wouldn't take T&D word for the warranty being non-transferable. Somewhere on that slider is the name of the manufacturer, and it is not T&D. Home warranty also should be able to tell you who made the sliders. I bought a pre-owned home here and after living in it a couple years a window failed and it was still covered under a 10 year warranty.

Perhaps the villages has gone cheaper and now provides windows without a transferable warranty saving themselves a couple dollars per house but it seems that such an outstanding organization with a commitment to quality would not have made that change.

So, it looks like they have every right to not fix a window that failed after just 4 years despite their boasts about what a wonderful product they make and stand behind. Way behind. Gotta love the requirement for the original order number as if a homeowner would have that, and a certified check as obviously a non-certified check is no good in extending a warranty while waiting a week for it to clear. They certainly protect themselves much better than the protect the comsumer.

If you have to replace them, you might want to consider French doors as opposed to the sliding doors. We replaced our sliding doors with French doors and are extremely happy with the way it turned out.

TD is owned by the villages they have 30% equity stake get better prices and warranty from their vendors !

I had an issue with my regular windows. I called the Village’s warranty. They referred me to the window division. Window parts are warranted for 10 years. Labor is 1. $75 to come look and any future labor is charged.

We had a couple of windows lose their thermal seal after less than ten years and called Warranty. They replaced them. There was a charge for labor.

I think that they bend over backward to do the right thing at Warranty.....unless you expose your posterior.

Call the warranty department. I’m in pine hills and had a issue with a few windows. FYI. Even though they are under warranty they charge $75.00 for installation even though a monkey can do it. Window is covered but mandatory installation is not.
